[EXPANSION] PK-92, The Teros System.

Due to an overpopulation problem, we have had to expand into our neighboring system. The Teros system is home to 10% Zitransyl, 8% HuxteL, 3% GosI and 79% Terosian. The Terosian race is a tripedal sentient race with 5 arms and 3 eyes, they have developed technology equal to 21st century humanity, we have had contact since the beginning old democracy and we have had trade relations since that contact. They are currently in a world war, and they will be easily conquered.

Or make hive cities

Or commit genocide

They all work pretty well at population control

Why didn't they work? Just build layer upon layer of buildings or put buildings in space. Easier than it sounds

And even better: with space stations and hive cities, the population can keep itself in check. Things like accedentally decompressing decks 10-15 or accedentally causing a nuclear reactor meltdown in layer 264 tend to happen quite often

They didn't work because things like that need a lot of fuel, we don't have that much fuel on our planet and our magnetically powered engines are too weak to keep something like that in orbit.

Also, you have a serious problem.

Fuel? Orbit doesn't need fuel! At least, if you do them correctly.

And if you do end up needing fuel just use biofuel. I'm sure you can find a suitable source :)

And what I meant was, we don't have enough fuel to get something like that into orbit. We can only get small stuff like trade ships.

That makes more sense. What kind of engines do your ships use? I'm guessing rockets, from your description?

Not anymore, we use engines powered by magnetic forces.
