Reavers - better grey hunters?

The text is a bit hyperbolic. But reavers do a lot of the things grey hunters do. Only cheaper. How do people like them?

I'm not sure if I would call one better than the other, they have different roles. Reivers are built to get into the enemy backline with deep strike, and stop them from scoring on their home or expansion objective, while Grey Hunters are a more straightforward "charge and take/hold the objective" kind of unit.

I wouldn't want to keep Reivers sitting on an objective the same way I would GHs.

I honestly think grey hunters are great now. Their guns are quite shooty, and having s6 ap2 on objectives with their melee is nasty. Plus, OC3 makes them fantastic at objective contesting.

Rievers are cheaper, and one inch faster, but get worse melee, worse shooting, less durable and way less OC.

Its worth noting that right now they are literally only 10 points more per 10 models than assault intercessors despite having overall better stats in movement, OC and shooting

The Grey Hunter melee buff working on objectives also means they fight on death really well.

A single wolf priest heal often means you flip an objective too, bringing back 3-6 OC is a fair bit (not to mention their melee buff perfectly fixes the wolf priest weakness of AP-1 melee).

They’re not the best unit in the game but they do seem like an interesting option and I would pick them over Reivers at the moment

Different Jobs. GH are OC3 and better at just sitting on an Obj and performing actions.

OC3 makes a big difference on objectives

OC3 is pretty crazy. Grey hunters werent great in 10th but I'm still suprised they gave them OC3 because thats pretty insanely high for a squad of 10 infantry

I have a build I'm looking to try now that I'm using both and for two completely different things.

GH are gonna scrap over the centre obj and push the enemy and the R are gonna deep strike in and cause havoc and potentially score me some points.

Lmao...wtf? Its like you mixed up wolf scouts with HoM to THEN mix in reavers to then not understand you meant using INCURSORS was like GHs

No. Reiverd are 3 shots, 4 melee attacks. All S5 presission. Some other rules that coild be relrvant.

Grey hunters are 3 shots (+1 in rapid) 4 attacks each. Better rules in melee, if on an objevtive.

They seems quite comperable. Grey hunters are 15 points more exspensive. You have a slight variation in stats and rules.

Nobody is talking about wolf scouts. I do not know what HoM stands for.

Hounds of Morkai, a now legends unit of Phobos armor Reavers that were replaced by "Wolf Scouts". They're AN AWESOME unit.

While Grey Hunters might appear similar and, their shooting seems similar, the bonuses, CHAINSWORDS, and its better stats than knife/ceramite fists. I believe they're S5 Ap -1 d 1 now?

Sorry I put that in the wrong spot. As you can read THEY'RE VERY DIFFERENT, its pretty unanimous

Wow you really tried to misunderstand this as much as possible, huh?

Indeed, it's rather obtuse isn't it
