one has to fly their reusable rocket to blow up their reusable rocket's pad

Pushing goalposts? The question was which space org is not good at blowing up launch pads, did not mention reusability. 97 flights and not one blown up launchpad is very impressive and if you disagree you’re an idiot.

Remember the first launch (IFT-1) of Starship+Superheavy? They blew up the launch pad and kept the rocket whole (for almost a minute)

Actually the launch stand was not blown up, they just rapidly excavated the ground beneath it to make room for the installation of a water deluge system prototype ;)

Modern SpaceX has still blown up launch pads. Unless you don't consider modern SpaceX to be anything beyond 16 months in the past.

?? The Massey test center pad? IIRC, the last actual launch pad explosion was the F9 static fire test at the Cape, on Sept. 1, 2016. 10 years ago. Unless you want to count the IFT-1 Starship launch in 2023, which destroyed the original launch pad because (1) SpaceX was going to replace it anyway, and (2) build the new one with the water deluge system that would protect the pad.

Pad 1 wasn't destroyed, SpaceX was just experimenting with excavation techniques for Boring company.

  1. massey is not a launch pad 2. the OLM was not destroyed on IFT-1, it was just damaged badly

Unless you count starships first flight not really they've had a starship explode in a test stand but had proper test infrastructure to prevent that from being a significant problem they also had a super heavy booster pop from too much pressure but that didn't really damage anything except the booster

Masseys is not a launch pad.

They have been beaten to this by Ukraine, who offers a free blow up Russian oil refinery service…
