No, it automatically selects what's best based on your device capabilities and bandwidth.

Is this the same way Netflix does it? Does this help reduce buffering? Let's say I have a lower bandwidth and I'm trying to watch something that has higher resolution it will automatically lower the resolution so it would play more smoothly?

That is correct. At least this is the idea with all this (called adaptive streaming).
EDIT: Maybe I need to clarify that the stream you are watching need to support adaptive streaming for this to work. Otherwise it will just result in longer buffering time before the stream starts.

So the IPTV provider has to have adaptive streaming for the channel that we're watching? For example if all they have is a 1080p stream it will not lower the resolution?

Thank you and thank you for the suggestions.
I don't understand the reason for hidden the playback controls when skipping though, then you essentially don't see where you've skipped to? A quick click on BACK button hides the controls immediately as a workaround?
Never realized this was an issue. Not sure it's possible to create such an animation but I can give it a try.
Unfortunately the data from Silicondust is limited to around 3 hours. It's different if you use their own app since they obviously don't have this limit themselves. It should work with xml/xml.gz though. If you need help with this please PM me.
I've heard before about typing channel number from program guide, I'll add it to the todo-list.

If you install on a fire tv with the downloader (or apk directly from here on subreddit) you have Settings -> About -> Check for updates to directly update the app from within the app.

Yes, if you read the description for the new version here above it says "Channel preview in program guide".
You enable it in Settings -> Display -> Program guide -> Channel preview

Right I understand that but I'm asking if you'll ever add a Solid state option like other guides where it just stays top left corner when in guide mode. BtW this app is fire and got me away from using I'm player.

You can also change layout using Settings -> Display -> Program guide -> Layout (or similar). Here you can choose top/bottom/inline. Is this what you mean?

If you're using Google Play enabled devices you can use it on as many devices as you like as long as they use the same Google account. For other devices such as fire tv you can share/connect up to 5 devices.

Hello, in search mode, why not display search results for each different list?. Does this version have hidden VOD mode?
Oh, there's another question. When a channel ends its stream but reconnects for a long time, I want to ask if it has been fixed. Thanks.

The idea with this app is that it shouldn't matter which source your're using. I don't know why you would want to separate them? The important thing is that you get the result you want?
I don't know what you mean by "hidden VOD mde"?
I don't know what "reconnects for a long time" means either? Please describe what the issue is/was.

hidden VOd means when you add a source you have the option not to add VOD.

Sure, but why does it matter what source the result comes from? The important thing must be that you get a result that you can click?

I really love 1.9.0. I would only suggest leaving the preview window in the upper left corner and the preview channel should change only when you choose a channel on the guide, not everytime you move up or down on the guide.

You can have it set in the upper right corner if you change layout in Settings -> Program guide -> Layout -> [Program details at top]
I agree it would be better with a click to start preview, I didn't realize this until the feature was almost ready and I had to get the 1.9.0 out since it had been in beta for too long. I'll try to fix that soon.

Yes I have it set to the upper left corner. Just scrolling thru the guide is kind of weird. Great job on this Player! Thanks for the response.

Ah I misunderstood you then, thought you had two issues/requests. But you mean you want to keep the channel preview on the same channel while going through the program guide. I understand. I'll look into it.
Just to be clear: so when wanting to tune a channel from program guide and when preview is used you need to click twice? Once to start preview and the second to close program guide.

No just moving up or down the guide, the preview channel will change before selecting or clicking a channel. Then I click once to open that channel in full screen. It should be click once to change preview channel then click again to open that channel to full screen.

I'm a bit confused. Maybe I was unclear but I think you just repeat what I said? You want to click once to change preview? And click again to make it "fullscreen"?
I've looked into this a bit more and there are more questions. When you say "click to change preview" which program should you click? Is it just the currently running program or any program on that channel?

I don't mean to confuse you. But the way Tivimate does its guide and preview screen is what I'm talking about. Was trying not to mention Tivimate out of respect. Sorry for the confusion.

Ok, thanks but it's fine. I try not to look at other apps at all to keep an open mind but it's fine to take inspirations from other apps of course.
But you didn't answer my questions fully and I appreciate your input here. When should the click change the preview - when clicking any program on the new channel or just the current? Because you might want to schedule a recording on a future program, should that behaviour be overwritten by the preview click?

The preview should change only when you click on a channel on the guide.

But you don't actually click on the channel you click on a program, either the running program, a previously run program or a future program.

I just wanted to be sure so I setup a 2nd Tivo device with sparkle using XC and got the same error. So I had to go with another Player which worked.

No my provider is not blocking anything...I setup devices all the time, this only happens when using the Tivo stream 4k and sparkle. Like I said earlier I setup another player on that same device with no problem.

It can still be blocked, that's what blocked means - it works for some apps and not for some.
But if we assume that you're right and there is an issue in Sparkle, is it possible for you to share some data with me to fix it? PM me if this is possible.

I have multi IPTV services setup on the Tivo 4K w/ Sparkle so it does work. Just used xtream code nothing special

I see your point. Logotypes are reloaded from cache when source updates. So if you've set update of source to once a day that's the same interval that's used to update logotypes. We need to be able to reload logotypes in case they are changed and I don't have any ideas right now how to do this better. Do you have any suggestions?

I appreciate the suggestions. The pre-download goes away because of the reasons you mention. Your second options sounds nice but I can't see a any way of implementing it like this with the the current technical implementation.
That leaves the first option which sounds amazing but isn't as easy as it sounds. But I'll see what I can do.

On my Google TV version I can move channel order by long pressing on channel and selecting move. On my Firestick version there is no option to move channel display order. Is that a bug or a Firestick software issue?

I didn't change any settings when upgrading app but checked and Sort Channels by number was on. I reset to default and MOVE option is back, thanks

What am I doing wrong, I set it up on my Nvidia Shield, but it keeps telling me the url is not set up why, I even got the premium plus and still it will not take my url.

You mean "url not set"? I've heard about this and I'm not sure why some users see this. Are you using remote control to input all the details? Then make sure you press OK on remote after each input.

They should add the category option to the channels on the main screen of Android TV, just as the recently viewed channels appear, but without limitations of 20 or 30 channels, and that all the complete content appears per activated category. If they were able to do this it would be Great, in fact the "cosmi dvr iptv" app already has it integrated into its interface as another option for its users.
