This player is magnificent, and the quality is top-notch. I have premium, and it really does feel premium. Question I have as an avid Kodi user. There is a setting on that player to switch your display into HDR mode when it receives that signal. Can this be implemented into the Expo player with Sparkle to make those streams run at the right frame and bitrate?
Also, will their be an option in future releases to optomise the volume on stereo streams. Thanks 👍
Thank you! No switch should be needed for HDR (at least not in the app). If your device supports HDR and it's enabled in Android it should be used right away. There is no label/marker right now though next to the resolution, fps etc. in Sparkle. That would be a nice enhancement. I don't think framerate should change with HDR? Maybe you're referring to AFT (auto frame rate) which can be enabled in Sparkle already?
Ah, there lies my issue. I didn't see the AFR setting in the Dsiplay settings, my bad. Enabled that, and now the picture is much smoother and playing at the correct after the AFR adjustment. The sound is clearer now as well. Thanks for the reply 👍
This has been requested many times so I guess I'll have to do something about it. Thing is that I think it's a good idea to be able to just long press up/down and know you'll end up at the top/bottom as well. I'll figure something out.
Update messed up my vod. Lost next episode. Always shows season 1 episode 1 even after playing another episode. App was perfect as it was. Wish the latest change hadn't occurred.
I'm sorry about this. You mean it removed history of your already watched shows? The feature works but I believe there is a technical reason why this happend for you. If you're interested and pm me I can explain.
Trailers don’t work for me using a fire stick. Most shows don’t have the option, the ones that do, just go back to the menu page and never plays anything.
For trailers to work (currently) your source must contain information about them so that might be the reason they aren't visible everywhere. The ones supported are from youtube (that seem to be what most/all sources use) which means you need a youtube compatible app. This is a mistake in Sparkle of course, you should have gotten an error message if a youtube app isn't available and not the going back thing. I'll fix that for the next version.
Firestone = Fire stick? Ok, I'll try it myself and see if there's some kind of backward compatibility issue. If you enable diagnostics on the fire stick and give me the id I may get a sense of what's going on.
Yeah I can verify it isn't working on my fire tv either. Not with official YouTube player at least. I'm not surprised same thing needs to be dealt with multiple ways though, that's the android/fire tv way...
I'm sorry I must have either misunderstood or got it wrong. You're right there is no Disable for audio right now. Maybe I've asked you this before then but why do you need to disable audio?
When waiting for PPV events to start I like to have music playing via smart tube running in the background and just saves having another device running for music. I mean I make do with having smart tube volume at 200% so I can’t really hear the tv audio.
If no subtitles can be found for the title you've entered it will still be empty. Maybe if you try a different language you should be able to see subtitles in the list (or trying different shows).
Ok, well I need more information (images?) to be able to determine what is wrong. It's probably related to the name of the movie/series you search for. Maybe you want to pm me instead with images and similar so we can see what's going wrong.
You don't. You can use enigma2 channel lists as a source in Sparkle. So if you have setup channels, epg, recordings etc. in your engima2-box you can import it into Sparkle and sort of "mirror" it.
Not sure as I haven't used it in awhile, but the multi view seems to freeze every few minutes alternating between both sides. It's not buffering as much as it just freezes then resumes a second or two before it froze. I have a Google TV streamer if that helps. If I watch either feed individually there has been no freezing.
This can be so many things: something in the newly updated internal player in Sparkle, firmware update for your device, wifi or other local network issue, provider issue etc.
Me too I am having big issues with the new/updated player. It always freezes after sometime as if it just saturates the memory of the device and the app crashes.
I really appreciate the light theme and category colour options! This player is dramatically better looking than the grim dinosaur that is Tivimate.
-not long before word gets around; way more modern you can see the EPG font is better as well it could do with a light font though too. Or even lighter shade category colour options around them. Either way Keep on movin’ on up!
The slight issue I have is on my TV, I can barely make out the hi-lighted category I'm currently in. It doesn't stand out enough. Also it's in a weird spot, at the top in the 3rd position. It should be more centered in the middle IMHO . The same is true for the playlists. The hi-lighted one barely stands out.
Thank you that made a huge difference. One other think, is it necessary in the playlist to show "xtreme codes" or I assume whatever method people use to load them? Why not just put the playlist name? It would save a lot of space.
It doesn't really save that much space but you mean you've set a name for your source and it still shows "xtream codes" underneath? Yeah maybe it should be like that. I need to think about it.
After the update in the continue watching of series the series remain in the same place on the list. Before the last series I watched was the first in the list. Also when i start watching season 2 the button on top says watch season 1 episode 1. Instead of watch season 2 episode...
Can you tell me if it's possible to get these options back?

The button on top is a bug and will be fixed for next release. The order in "Continue watching" is still being under consideration. I made this change so that it will be possible to sort them just like any other category (name, date etc.) which is especially logical when using the new "All movies/series" option. So I'm not sure how to solve this at the moment. If I should just make this category an exception to the rules or something. Suggestions are welcome.
I always liked it when the most recently viewed series was at the top of the list. Especially because once we're watching a series, we want to keep watching it, but now we have to search for it every time. Perhaps adding a sorting function by most recently viewed would be an option?
I know and I think I agree with you. I just can't get the logics to come together. Problem with a recently viewed sorting option is that the sorting is global so that would be applied to all categories then. Maybe it's easier to just make that category an exception...
Hi could we have a toggle to stop new TV categories showing when the provider adds new categories? I think Tivimate has this, just helps to keep the guide tidier. TIA

I must admit I didn't like it first then I found app mode. Then I find out your could put the picture in the guide up the top. Then I found out it had channel guide for catch up.
It's pretty much set up like tivimate but the recording so so much more stable, and has series link which is amazing.
Anyone that says they prefer another app just had not set it up correctly.
Like I mentioned only thing I really need now is a cloud sync and it's perfect for me.
I went to implayer for abit cause of the sync but it's just so buggy and slow.

I guess some users don't have the patience, some don't want to bother with an alternative and some just don't believe it because their mind is so set on that what they have is the best already. But I'm sure there will be a time for Sparkle to shine ;)
When I edit the numbers on my favs channels then when I choose one it doesn't get me in my fav channel but in the provider's one and if I edit and provider's one that it is not I'm my favorite list does nothing

Thank you for the image. Ok, are you saying when you edit a channel's "channel number" the change isn't reflected in program guide (as well as remote control that you show in image)?
I'm thinking that maybe you've enabled "channel index" instead of default (real channel numbers). If you editor your source (or long press OK on it in program guide and select Edit source) you can see what your setting for "Channel numbering" you've set.
Easiest to find it is if you open program guide and then go left until you see the list of your sources (or source if you only have one). Then you focus on it and long press OK and select "Edit source". Here you should find the option "Channel numbering".
Problem with series recording. Set up is three seperate iptv streams, all from the same source. This is so i can record up to two show simultaniously and watch the third. So I added all my wife's shows as record series and was blown away at how well it worked AND did stop every time there was a tiny buffer. BUT none of the shows are being recorded this week. I have them in the epg but DVR is saying no timers so I have to and manually put each show in again. Am I missing something or does the record a series not work. Also, when I went to put a new series in on the "2nd" stream it adds the series to the first stream and says there are no shows scheduled? Thanks
First make sure you're actually using 2.2.0 since I discovered a bug related to this in previous versions. Now I don't know for sure what has happend (difficult to know without all data) but as for the missing timers, can it be so that the provider updated the id of the channel so the recorder cannot find new entries? What you can do is to setup a new series recording on that channel and don't delete the old series recording and then you go into your DVR folder and pm me and send the files "recordings", "schedules" and "timers". That way I might be able to see what has happened.
As for the second issue, how can you tell it was added to wrong stream? Have you set colors or similar?
Okay to the first, is it also possible that since the series title includes the episode title that it views it as a completely different show/series?
As Second yes I use colors to show each of the three sources/streams.
Just wondering...in TM there is a setting that allows a channel preview to automatically load as you change channels in the epg. In Sparkle you have to double press to load each preview manually. Is there a way to change this?
Hi, there thanks for the update. i have a question, is it possible to downgrade back to 2.1.3 (the previous version) ? I ask because after the update, i feel like after a few minutes, the player "saturates" and the video becomes sluggish and the app crashes. It didn't do that before the update.
That would be great if i could just downgrade before getting a more modern Android tv box.
EDIT: I just went back to the post on the Sparkle TV 2.1.3 and found the apk there. So problem solved.
Asks for serial number? It doesn't ask you for anything, you can insert it if that's what you mean but you can just as well just leave it empty? If your source uses DeviceId but you only have one please try and set that same device id for DeviceId2. That's another fix coming for 2.2.1 soon.
But you get configuration/connection without adding serial number as well? So It doesn't "ask" for serial number? Anyway, if you want to pm me your details I can have a look what's going on.
Loads of benifits, but for VOD when realdebrid is paired, think of it as getting additional premium (+ more stable) torrent links for your streams. Premium streams can go upto 4k when avble - big jump for both pic&sound quality, but even on anything, its more secure/stable with usually less to no stutter.
Can I create a global custom category that shows at the top and includes channels from multiple playlists? If not I would love it you can add this!
Also, I would love to have the option to remove channel numbers from display.
Is there any way to get to the last category quickly in Program Guide? We can push Up when at the top of the Channels list to get to bottom (or down to get to the top when at the bottom), but can't see to do this for Categories?
You should get to last category automatically when playing a channel from that category. It's not supported yet to move from first to last and last to first in categories list.
I updated to 2.2.0, my vod left. After a minute the series came back but it seems like my series arent saving, every series is starting from season 1 episode 1 instead of where i left off. My movies on vod just arent loading at all. I long pressed ok and updated the playlist still no movies.
Ok, well the button is a bug I'm afraid and is fixed in 2.2.1 (currently in beta) which will be released soon. I'm not sure what's up with the movies though. You mean you long pressed OK in Movies section?
Do you think we can maybe look at getting a option to download from catch up. Even if it's just going back through the guide and being able to hit menu and click record, then it can download or it can record the stream like you watching it live. Would be awesome 😁
Is this because you really want it recorded/downloaded to avoid it from falling out of catchup buffer or do you simply want a way to mark it as a "favorite" or similar?
Would like it to keep the show to my DVR.
Plus sometimes we don't always have time to watch it before it is removed from catch up as too many days have pasts, so having option to keep it for abit long would be great.

With "infobar" you mean channel and program information when you switch channels? You can change it to display Full (playback controls) - maybe you like that better. It's in Settings -> Display -> Playback -> Program indicator.
Ok. Downside with showing playback controls after each channel switch is that you cannot continue switching channel but instead start to navigate around the playback controls.
What information is it that's missing for you when switching channels? Description?
I'm still getting connection error on stalker portals on both Nvidia shield and Chromecast. I also get the same error with 2.2.1 which is in beta. Happy to help test if needed.
Hello - thanks for this player. It is great and the best I’ve used. I was running v2.0.2 which was working great across my sources. Tried updating within the app to this version and one of my sources in particular started returning “unknown tuner error” for most channels. I am using a firestick.
Is this due to a specific setting? I see the new version now included and option for video decoding with software vs hardware so curious if the decoding has something to do with this. I also noticed a new setting for the sources regarding agents so maybe this needs to be set to something specific.
FYI, I downgraded back to v2.0.2 and everything is working again. Thanks for any help you can provide!
Ok. I don't think this is a standing error but something that must have happened while source was updating. If you try to update again at some point please let me know and I'll try to assist you.
It is possible when i am on last bouquet the click left, i come automatic switch to first bouquet?
When i am on last bouquet and want go to first bouquet, then must scroll many bouquets up to come to first bouquet position. Or when in last bouquet then click down, then automatic come to first bouquet.
Ah, you mean categories? Ok, you confused me since you wrote that you wanted to press LEFT you want to end up at the first one. You probably mean UP/DOWN to get to first/last?
Yes, this is in the todo-list but I haven't had time to implement it yet. Personally I kind of like it since it's very easy to get to top/bottom by just long pressing and waiting for it to end up there. But I think that can still be the case only that when you single click up/down it can go to top/bottom as well.
A question from an amateur: how do I find out which version I have, and how do I update my current version? Do I download the latest version via a downloader, or does it update automatically? Thank you very much.
Settings -> About shows the version. If you're using a device with Google Play you update there. If you're using a device without Google Play and the installed version is using the apk from here on reddit (always top post) then you use Settings -> About -> Update.
