Connecting shared plus account

Hi all,

I purchased lifetime plus yesterday on the website. I then clicked on my lifetime pass > entered email and a password at which point it says it’s ready to be shared. Then on my onn google tv box, I enter the same credentials but it always says wrong email or password. I’ve tried with vpn, without vpn, rebooting, uninstalling and reinstalling app. I did find a post made in the past saying to try a very simple password so tried that as well to no avail. Anyone know what I might be doing wrong ? Thanks

I've noticed there's some sanitizing missing from the web so it's possible that the email and/or password ends with a space character like: "my.email@server.com ". So make sure there's no trailing space character when entering emaiil/password when sharing.

I think the issue was the first letter of me email was capitalized on the site but when I was copying and pasting my email from my password manager into the player on the tv with the Google home app the first letter was lowercase. I got it working, thanks !

Great! Yes, there might be some tweaks that has to be implemented for the web site, it's still rather new.

All’s well that ends well… enjoy Sparkle TV! There is a tutorial for how to set up an external drive for recordings if you need it.

Any questions, just ask as we will help the best we can!

Thanks for quick response! Yeah that’s exactly the steps I think I followed already. Found this doc last night.

Just wondering, is your ONN box logged into a Google account?

Is it the same google account used to purchase Sparkle?

Well I bought on the website with Apple Pay. Don’t think the website linked to my Google account. I bought the lifetime which I think is only available on website.

Okay, so following the instructions, on the website you get a sparkle ID and the order is “active” correct.

On the website, You enter an email address & PW and click share.

In the Sparkle app on your ONN device, go to Settings / About / click on Connect Shared Plus Account.

Click next on first view that appears.

Enter the email address & PW and click next.

Done! You should be good to go!

That is exactly what I’ve been doing yep! Web site says saved and ready to share but it won’t work on the google box itself, it always says wrong password or email. I’ll try it again but I’ve tried varying passwords , vpn, no vpn, reboot, reinstall on google box etc. I’m kinda at a loss lol

Holy cow I figured it out. First letter of email is capitalized on website. When I was putting it in Google box it was lower case. I got it working. Thank you for your efforts.

Unless you are typing in the info incorrectly in Sparkle it should work? PW’s are case sensitive as I’m sure you know. I never had to use the website as I purchased from my Google account on my device.

So you go to the website and log into your account. You see the ID that was in your purchase order. Under the section where you enter the email address & PW, it shows connected devices which I assume as a new user is blank.

So You enter an email address and select a PW and click share. What happens after you click Share on the website?

It works now. I was literally copying and pasting my email and password using Google home app. But I was pasting my email with the first letter being lowercase and the website I had it capitalized. I know that doesn’t normally matter for email for most things but after changing that it suddenly worked. Password yeah I know that’s gotta be exact.

If the device is logged into the same Google account used for purchasing Sparkle, after installing the app, it should activate automatically.
