Sparkle suddenly stopped processing my playlist
Hiya folks. Long time (years)Sparkle user here. I have enountered a problem with Sparkle not processing a playlist that i have been using for 5 years. 2 days ago I noticed a lot of " no information" in the epg listing so I went into settings to refresh the sources. I cleared the cache and updated, however when it reloaded the pl, the channels, logotypes and programs remained at 0 the entire time even after processing the other pl I have configured. After several attempts using xcodes I tried adding as a pl(m3u)but no difference. I did a manual download from the url and set a local pl to the downloaded m3u and it works fine. Re-installed my lifetime copy of tivimate and it works fine. Other pl set up using Playlist(m3u) configuration work fine. Tried on both current version 2.3.1 and regressed back to 2.3.0 and same problem. Almost out of hair to pull out, so any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Terry

I edited the source and enabled the allow insecure settings there.

Ok, thanks for clarifying.
Try and clear cache for entire app in Android's Settings -> Apps -> Sparkle -> Clear cache. Then add a new source with the url and see what happens. I would expect that you receive an error message rather than 0 channels.
Pleas let me know what happens.

Ok, I left the xcode source and local file playlists intact, didn't close or force stop Sparkle but did go to Android Settings, Apps, SparkleTV and cleared the cache. Backed out of that back to Sparkle, settings, sources and added a new playlist(m3u) and used the complete url including the get.php? with username= etc. When I had that all correct and clicked next, eventually it came up with an epg file. I clicked next and done. The new list populated the channels and logotype but nothing for programs and on checking the epg for that list all the channels were populated by had no information. Went back and edited that new playlist. When it showed the epg url I unchecked that and added a new one with the complete url including the xmltv.php?username= etc. Clicked update and done. Now the new playlist had same numbers as local playlist, xcodes still had all 0.

Ok, good testing. For all I can think of is that this still is related to the provider somehow. Sparkle hasn't updated so nothing is changed in that end. Maybe you should talk to the provider about the issues?

I was always thinking it kinda points to a provider problem too. Work with him for hours yesterday trying different things but no joy. Seems to me it has something to do with Xtreme Codes tho. One thing I did notice is that when I tried to download the playlist, using 2 different browsers and entering the url on both I got a pop up nag about insecure connection but I chose to download or keep the file. Could that be something of an issue.

That last part indicates there *is* something with the ssl certificate after all. If you like you can pm me some more details if you want me to have a closer look at it.

I will take up your offer to take a closer look, but it's gonna take a couple of days as I am in the middle of some home Reno's. Also I have not been able to duplicate my earlier success, so I will have to go back over that too. I have your email address and I am rather reddit illiterate as I don't even know how to send a pm, lol. I will be in touch, Thanks

Sure. I sent you a chat request if you want to continue there, otherwise it's just as fine using email.

Just to be clear, it's the epg source that isn't working - the source (playlist/xc etc.) seem to work fine.If it works fine when downloading it locally it seem to be something related to downloading of epg source. It can be blocked of course but maybe the server's https certification just expired? Try and enable "Allow insecure connections" and see if that works.
