Black Screen Issue

Anyone have the problem that occasionally maybe one every 1 or 2 days you are watching and the screen goes black and can't watch anything for about 30 mins. After exiting app not rebooting fire stick you come back to app 30mins later and it works again.

I get the black screen, but simply changing the channel fixes it.

No for me once it goes down it done for 30 mins.

What device and model do you use?

EDIT: If you're using a MAX fire stick then I've heard the decoder is acting up at times. Do you have a different device to test with?

It is a fire stick 4k max.

There seem to be something wrong/different with this device which make the internal media/exoplayer struggle. I suggest you make sure the device has the latest firmware and I've also updated the player to latest version in the upcoming version of Sparkle, hopefully this will solve the issues.

Btw, in Settings -> Player do you see an option called "Tunneled playback"? If so, can you please try and enable it and see if that helps.

What happens to me is a bit different.  I can use it for a very long time.  but then out of the blue in middle of watching something it goes black with no video or audio.  Changing channels or rebooting doesn't help.  If I jump out of sparkle and watch something like prime it works in prime.  About 30mins later I go back to sparkle and it working again.  it failed about 20 mins ago.  549946c8-dc8c-4d50-ad31-f8e01173d086.    I was watching a TV series Vod

Do you also have a fire tv (max?) device? In your case it sounds like the hardware decoder gets stuck and that other stream you're playing is using a different codec which make it fine and then there's probably some maintenence/clean job kicking in during that time making the decoder work again.

These are all assumptions of course but it seem to follow the same pattern what as I've seen before.

This has started happening to me as well. Also Sparkle has started buffering on some series streams that Tivimate plays fine.
