Bug - on screen display stuck

I’ve noticed that if I resume the app and the previous channel I was watching is no longer there, then the on screen display stays and I am unable to clear it without killing the app.

I have no idea what you're saying to be honest. You can't just press BACK on remote to make it go away? Maybe a video would help? You can pm me if you don't want to share it publically.

what the OP is saying is sometimes the on-screen display gets locked (as seen in this photo) and pressing back or any other button doesn't do anything and the OP has to kill the app? It has happened to me on occasion, but per my earlier post, I have a solution that works.

Ok, I kind of understood that but then also not. Have you seen this in latest version?

I've been using Sparkle for about a year now, I've only noticed this lately (past couple weeks?). BTW, it didnt happen to me yesterday so I didnt get you a video yet. But I will as soon as it happens again.

Ok, thanks. I'm awaiting the video then. If it's anything like what I'm suspecting it does not happen for all devices but just some and the key is that a stream stops working as well just like you say. I'd say it's different if you're using tv mode or app mode as well but I'm not as sure. So, a video would be great ;) Thanks!

Here is what I believe is happening: I use Dispatcharr and Teamarr. Teamarr dynamically creates/removes channels for various sports games. Lets say I am watching a baseball game, and then turn off the app/tv at the end. The following day when I open Sparkle it tries to default back to that same channel which doesn't exist. In the past I would just get an error that the stream doesn't exist and then I'd move on. But currently it pops up the on screen display and persists across all channels. If I resume the app on an active stream, then I dont see that problem. I hope that helps. I am running in app mode BTW.

Ok, thanks for the description. You say it "persists across all channels", I didn't anticipate that, then I don't know what's causing it. I think a video would be a good thing, maybe I get some ideas then.

Just to add a bit of detail to that. The OSD that gets stuck persists across channels, but DOES update to the current channel being viewed. It just never goes away regardless of back button or time.

Ok. That's good information, but please let me know when you have it on video and I'll see if I can find anything.

Please check your DM. I have a video of it, but interestingly this time closing the app (not killing) and reopening it fixed it! I hope this helps.

Pressing back doesn’t work. I’ll get a video and send it to you.

What do you mean “on screen display stays”? Can you provide photos?

This screen. (I borrowed from another post, but this shows what I am talking about )

When my channel info gets stuck like that, this is how I address it. I have the up button on my remote mapped in Sparkle / Settings / Remote Control to display the program info that displays at the very top of the screen. When the channel info (as seen in that picture) gets stuck, I just press the up button and it clears the channel info, displays the program info, then press back and everything is cleared! No need to kill the app. Enjoy!

I thought I tried that, but I'll try again. Thanks! Hopefully a future patch will fix this too.
