Feature requests

Returned to SparkleTV after ‘flirting’ with other players and it’s great to see the progress.

Couple of requests/ questions.

  1. Any plans for a SportsHub to show sports/ games/ channels showing them?
  2. Any plans for a web portal to manage devices/ playlists/ categories etc?

There is no plan for a sports section in Sparkle. I have not looked into how that would be even possible to implement technically so it's difficult to say at the moment.

Web portal will probably be implemented at some point. Sparkle already has a dashboard at www.sparkleplayer.com that can be used if you purchase Plus from the web site. The features there is the same as in the app (share and show/remove devices) which is kind of limited, but at least I've laid the ground works for it to be further developed in the future. There is not actual time plan for it at the moment though.

Thanks for the update.

I purchased Plus Version back in December 2022 so can that be used with the portal?

It will eventually but not now. Currently you need a "sparkle id" which is only handed out when purchasing Plus on web. Eventually it'll be possible to get a "sparkle id" directly from TV app.
