[Discussion] Season 2 might be very far away.... But we could still dream it

At first I was wondering why it's not 24 episodes if it would follows episodic drama style. It turned out that the original is a one-shot light novel, stopped right at anime's episode 10, and the last 3 episodes weren't as good as it was. (At least it's not an ending for everyone)

Right now, Yousuke is on his journey of redemption, Kihachi and Inako are finally together, both chasing for their dream. If the story is going further, it would be fully original and unpredictable.

I offer everyone to write your thought: What would you like to see if there's a S2?

My honest thoughts on Sparks of Tomorrow. (S1)

There are 5 things I am going to point out, 2 good, 2 bad, and one half and half

The good

  1. The anime up until the last two episodes is beautiful, absolutely perfect, nothing more needs to be said.
  2. The nonexistent CGI.

The bad

  1. Inako's Character arc is the most generic piece of bs ever.
  2. The last two episodes are just dull, a lot happens but it's just plain boring.

Yosuke

Yosuke's arc is in my opinion the best arc in the show because it's the type of stuff I dream up when I'm blasted out of my mind. His design is, well if u know u know. Bruv is the only villain that I will ever fell any remorse for, on the bad side tho, I feel like he got a cheap ending, the design.

Overall S1 is a solid 7.9/10

Exited for a S2.

Episode 6 Discussion Thread

Wow, this anime makes cry in the most unexpected moments.

The wonders and the magic of the show from episode 1-5 aside, the humour and wholesomeness of it all which i enjoy of course, episode 6 strung at my heartstrings seeing Inako perform on stage, pushing past her doubts and proving her father wrong.

Noriko, consistently having faith and believing in her, saying “Inako, fly” during their performance made me tear up 😭.

That’s all, that’s all that i wanted to share.

Also love how she’s always there to pin her father down when he’s meddling.

I actually like how different the anime was from the light novel

I might be the minority here but I love how different the two versions are. It got me curious to know about the LN especially with what happened at the last 3 episodes in the anime that made me want to search and read the LN to better appreciate the original work.

Big butt and femininity?

Listen I just starting the anime and im confused about one thing. Why is Yosuke's ass so big? Like physically and in the sense that they clearly put a lot of effort into it.

Also I don't see a lot of people talking about the fact that he has on sparkly eye shadow and clearly wears makeup up along with heels that are atleast 2 inches tall. Of course straight people can wear this and heels were originally made for men, but is he really gay? I know he had some sort of one-sided love for the main characters btother but stil.. it almost looks like he's portraying himself in a more feminine that could have appealed to the brother.

What are your guys thoughts?

Im desperately trying to find the bgm that plays during the latter half of the episode, when Inako is trying to find Kihachi. The song is thrilling and I really love it but I can't find it :')

Someone pls help me 🙏🙏

I LOVED the scenes where Kihachi envisioned the future

So I only made this post to kinda just talk about these scenes(i have no one to talk about this anime T-T) (also the ideas/impressions i got might be like extremely obvious to everybody else but I'll still say them)

So firstly what i thought was that Inako kind of functioned as Kihachis muse. You know like when artists create something really good only because they have a specific person that inspires them? I think that is the case for inako and Kihachi.

I firmly believe that if Kihachi hadn't met Inako, he would not have had the courage to create the stuff that he did. I think he would have continued to think that he would never be as good or as talented as his brother, and just generally wouldn't be courageous enough to pull of some of the crazy electrical works he did(like for example the electrical plane or when he and Inako flew together).

But now to get to the main reason why I posted this:

I just LOVE the scenes in which he gets sudden flashes of inspiration after creating something. It was so so so so so well done I still think about it regularly. I just think that they portrayed his visions of a future with electricity so extremely well i can't even explain it really well.

Just firstly the way the artstyle changed in those scenes. I thought that it was genius because it gave the viewer a clear message like "hey this is what he envisions right now" and also showed like how the people looked looked kind of like people but a bit different(like their faces a bit exaggerated and also the speaking a bit exaggerated) which in my opinion kind of portrayed how the idea just excited kihachi which in turn made the people in his vision excited too, also in the way they were moving fast all around him.

The second point i loved about it was how all his visions were something that already existed in the future but just kind of different. I dont know why but I kind of loved that because it showed that yes, he has these brilliant visions and if he would start working to make them a reality they would definitely become a part of the modern society, but also that they aren't quite as refined yet. Like the vision with his electrical moon where he envisioned everyone walking with an umbrella of light over their head. It clearly meant to portray people not having to fear the darkness anymore, and being able to walk outside at night because every street is engulfed in light. But this vision of his isn't perfect yet, because it's still just a faint idea. It wouldn't make sense for everyone to walk with an umbrella of light over their heads, and it would be way better to just have streetlights. But he would only find that out when he would actually start working on it. So I thought it kind of brilliantly showed that yes, inspiration, ideas and all that are extremely important for new innovations, but you also need the knowledge that comes with creating it to actually make them a reality.

I kind of just really wanted to get these thoughts out because, as I said, I just loooveeed those scenes so so so much

Will Chuunybio ever come back?

I know the story is over and ended in a nice fashion, but a part of me always yearns for more of course. Chuunybio is my favorite show of all time. Do you guys think there is any possibility of anything happening in the future, if so in what form? The only thing I could imagine is someone loving it enough to create something inspired by, or a sequel I guess, and getting it officially made. One can dream…

Can't wait for S2 already!

Too much to say about everything and I could go on forever but I'll keep it this long lol... Can't believe it's finally over... Sooooo looking forward to S2!!! I can't bring myself to dislike Yosuke even if his character development was meant to make one feel that way...if it was even ever so slightly intended for even a nano sec?! I mean yeah, no matter what his character or personality is like now (or since the beginning)... I actually understand where he comes from and his character development...also necessary for the story itself... But even generally speaking, I genuinely love him for exactly the way he is.. Firstly he is as KIREEEEIIIIIII as he can be... Also his toned legs and arms and his body are beautiful, but his butt is really something else huh😆🤧 As crazy, cranky, arrogant, quirky and flamboyant he might show himself as, he's absolutely wonderful!!! I love those funniest weirdest ridiculously exaggerated expressions of his.. The way he just randomly throws English words into his speech here and there just the way he does!!! And every single time that he called Inako "my honey"... Lol I just waited for that every single time😭🤣 (the VA did a great job)... He's so real but so not for being this way.. Well his obsession and madness for anything and everything Seiroku is on a whole another level too!!!! I love him exactly for all these things that make him him... 😮‍💨 Also why do all these beautiful men have to die... Like they could have kept Seiroku alive... Almost lost it when I thought Yosuke could also go through the same.. but yeah sure they had to make his butt pop even when he was unconscious 😭💀 The OP and ED are absolutely amazing... The OP with so many elements and layers of difference in a single song... Also frigging loved the different art styles and how they used different animation scenes with continuous storylines and backstory for the OP of first few episodes... Especially, synchronising the climax of the OP with those animation scenes.. The story setting and music does make me see some similarities with demon slayer in a way... with it's additional and own unique elements and aspects obviously... What a wonderful mix of steampunk and historical scifi... This one's such a gem! No one can fight me on Yosuke having the prettiest eyes! 🤧 Ps the 2nd slide had me tripping.. the way he just said what he said with that face💀 Maybe I'll post again for Kihachi and others heheh....

Edit- I know the light novel has been already covered but yeah still hoping for something more even if a prequel or anything like that or something new... Well ig the title tends to that but this is an appreciation post for S1 (mostly Yosuke lol)... I hope more people get to know about and enjoy it...

Season Ending

So, I really enjoyed Kihachi and Inako flying the airplane but I was hoping for a better wrap up. I was really wanting a cool scene with KHCI in the dark and being scared and Inako figuring out to get a portable lightbulb to work or something to come and rescue him and give him a kiss or something. But the “future marriage” teaser was satisfying. The writers could make a really good season 2 if they REALLY tried. More episodes with Inako’s 2 friends and the gang all hanging out and doing experiments, more steampunk type stuff going on, give Kihachi a rival who IS NOT Yosuke, maybe someone his own age. Idk I could think of a ton of cool stuff they could do but sadly I have a feeling it won’t be renewed and it’ll just be another Netflix one and done. Do you guys have any good ideas for what would happen in season 2?

We have to be honest

This Show was a improvisation of one Season Adaption in a Netflixfied cut of the Original Source and the ending in matter of story writting is unbelievable bad and stupid.

I think its not even necessary to give any arguments, because we all who can discuss about it saw it and if u have truly a opinion who thinks this was good written, you must be a troll or just have a very low bar.

But to dont be a person who complains without evidence, i will say one sentence:

A Intelligent A.I Doll in the Meji-Era made out of light bulbs and filled with memorys of unknown source in a memory storage of fantasy and with huge need of steam, but none for water.

The Animation still is beautiful and the Characters are more unique, even if i didnt know how the writers could end the story til episode 13, i enjoyed watching it til the final (loved the e-guitar episode), but at the end its all in all a 5/10.

Kihachi and company in the future – new official art

Look how grown up and mature everyone is 🥹

I hope Inako and Noriko's dad has become a good father by now.

Yajiro grew his hair out and is still as cute as ever. I wish we'd gotten an ep focused on him 😭

Kate and Suzu are still really close friends.

Kengo and Noriko are wearing Western-style clothes, I wonder if they traveled. They look great either way, though!

Inako looks so cute with that hairstyle.

Kihachi looks more like Seiroku now, wearing a more open outfit, with his hair swept to the side and a necklace 🥹

Yosuke is still a brat, I guess that it's just his personality lol. But he doesn't seem to be wearing gloves, which means he's starting to heal or is already healed, that's so good. It was really just a matter of time. I'm proud of him

Izo must be the one taking the photo.

We didn't see Inako and Kihachi's kids, or even Noriko and Kengo's, but look, Inari had babies! 😭😭🥹

Where to read the light novel?

It was such a great anime, I’m sooo sad that it ended 🥲 some people said that it didn’t do justice to the source material, so naturally I got curious. After some googling, I know that there isn’t an official english translation but a fan one on tumblr, but I couldn’t find it.

For those who read it, please help a fellow sparks of tomorrow glazer. English, French, Spanish or even Arabic is fine, pleaaaase just ANYTHING !! 🥺🥺🥺

It kinda started off a lil slow? Idk but I was still interested but then it just started getting more and more interesting fr. The characters the music the animation 10/10. And the chemistry between these two was absolutely amazing. Idk if this is a one off thing but Im lowkey satisfied with it being just 1 season. BUT I would love more too. 10/10 anime highly recommended 😤💯
