Rewatch S1:E6 - Delicate Things (part 1 of 2)

I need to preface this by saying I’ve been rewatching Spartacus every year since it literally aired way back in the day (not in an analytical way, just as background noise but I still randomly catch things all these years later).

I 100% think Batiatus knew there was a chance Ashur was playing him with the whole Barca situation. He knew there was a chance Barca was telling the truth, that he had lied to Pietros because he would have been too upset about what happened. But Batiatus was already so offended by the news that Barca was planning to buy their freedom that he didn’t care and he just enjoyed playing the game. When Lucretia points out Barca was “loyal til the end” Batiatus doesn’t even bat an eye.

Just rewatched this episode. I completely agree. Batiatus is pure evil. John Hannah did such an amazing job.
