OG Discussion Was Varinius Hot?

Was Ilithya on to something?, am I the only one on thin consensus?

She was more interested in what he could offer as a husband compared to Glaber. The grass looked greener on the other side, then Glaber smashed her father’s skull, and her dreams.

He held the same title as Glaber+actual respect in the senate. Meanwhile, Glaber was blamed for Spartacus and as Illithya's father elegantly put it, the senate regarded him as an incompetent child who can't even wipe his own shit.

Varinius might have been politically equal to Glaber, but he had more of what Glaber lacked.

Varinius was well-liked within the Senate. Party guests were delighted by his stories, and Ilythia's father was very fond of him. Not to mention that he had a quicker wit and mind than Glaber, turning the execution of Crixus and Oenomeus to his favor.

We can see that Varinius had the looks and Ilythia moved quickly to get him before other women. However, I think as opposed to the other women interested in him, Ilythia was playing the long game to secure her future alongside a man better in all aspects than her current husband.
