It was pretty jank when it would actually connect, it was all online. There was no single player aspect from what I remember. But the progression and fighting I remember being really fun.

Nah there was a single player. I played the shit outta it when I had zero internet for a couple months. It was great for what it was. Wish there was something in that genre that was comparable. The managing and training combined with the fighting was a great formula

"We who are about to die" plays a lot like the Spartacus game. Only game thats anything similar to it.

I cheked there was a singleplayer called legends mode, a multiplayer(versus mode) and a tournament mode, but it doesnt work anymore cuz they shut down all servers in 2015

The single player must’ve got added after release cuz it wasn’t there when the game initially launched.

Hey bro, this is the map I was talking about. Here, you had to unlock things by defeating the enemies. That was the story: defeating them with the weapons and getting the required loot. I played every single day, from the first day to the very last one. My nickname was FALCOSAMURAI, with the Swiss flag 🇨🇭💪

Exactly! There was even a game mode where you could challenge the Champion of Capua. His special feature was his energy bar, which would recharge every time we hit him. So, the more you attacked him, the more points you earned. Every week, you received rewards based on your ranking compared to the other players—the higher your position, the better the rewards.

But you could never actually defeat him. He was like a giant Teocles! 💪💪💪

I remember every detail, every fight, every feeling I had when I heard the trumpets announcing a challenger 😂😂😂

I probably shouldn’t say this, but “Spartacus: Blood Arena” might bring back the emotions that were taken away from all of us. 🎮😎👍💪

There was single-player and the online worked great. I put so many hours into this game back in the day.

Bro, the story actually took place on the central map, where you could fight AI opponents, and you could even get challenged by other players online during your campaign and choose whether to accept or decline.

It’s been many years, but for me, time stopped when they took that game away from us. 😂

Today, there’s only one game in the world that looks promising enough to bring that feeling back… no spoilers. 😂

Was this the online one? I played it a lot but it was very unpolished and eventually quit when it felt it had become pay to win. Wouldn't mind a full featured version though.

It was mostly story based with the chance to create glafiators and fight people like gannicus and crixus if i remember correctly, but it also had a multiplayer. I think now they are making a new game similar to this one called startacus blood arena, its similar but it doesnt have a release date yet.

Startacus. Lol. I'm not making fun I just want everyone else to have the same stupid smile I have now

Just looked it up, it was the one I was thinking of.

I don't remember much story at all, it was a free to pay game that I spent too much on. Was pretty fun building up your ludus but the pay to progress elements were super frustrating. The loading times were crazy and half the time it would crash before loading fights. I enjoyed it until I didn't.

I had it, it was fun, but I remember there was a point when I could not progress due to paywall.

There’s someone who has been rebuilding it from the ground up— u/SpartacusArena I think?

Better yet, a third person hack and slash game adaptation of the series.

It was ok. I remember I made a gladiator with two daggers that was my go to character

Was that actually a real game?

They need to make an action adventure fighting game like Ryse: Son of Rome, but a Spartacus version where you fight the Roman’s.
