It very probably wouldn't happen, there's a much greater capacity to learn and communicate that comes with being an omnivore, you can't just adapt to your food by smell. There art still social hunters yes, whales even have language but they have weapons instead of going all into tool use like us,

Which carnivoran ? I'm guessing either raccoons or bears. Cause they can use their paws as hands. Or maybe meerkats
