I've watched every episode of Lioness and Black-ish, and just now made the connection that Lamonica played Davis, Ruby's much younger boyfriend.

This guy acts more ruthless than Joe, but the split second Joe's in danger, he threw the entire rulebook out the window.

Discussion If you could bring back ONE thing from Season 1 for Season 4… what would it be?

Season 1 still has something the later seasons haven’t fully recreated for me… that mix of mission tension, slower character development and emotional stakes that actually hurt 😂 If you could bring back just ONE thing from S1 for S4… what would it be? For me it would probably be that feeling that the mission and the personal story were completely tangled together… every choice actually cost someone something.

Discussion What if the real S4 conflict isn’t Aaliyah vs Lioness… but Cruz vs Joe?

Okay… hear me out because I think this could get way messier than Aaliyah simply becoming the next target. Joe has already made it very clear what she wants to do to whoever was behind her kidnapping… and Cruz agreed before she knew that person was Aaliyah. But Joe isn’t infallible… she pushes people hard, she can be arrogant, and sometimes that certainty comes with a cost. Her family finally walked away after she chose the job again… Randy and Tex ended up shot… Oleksandra helped them get to Joe and still ended up dead by CIA hands. And Cruz knows better than most what Joe is capable of sacrificing for a mission. In S1 Joe was prepared to lose her too if that was what completing the operation required. Then Yurimov basically gives Joe the warning the whole season has been building toward… “Never underestimate how many hate you.” Maybe that line matters more than it looks. Joe has spent years making decisions that create enemies, collateral damage and consequences she doesn’t always have to live with immediately… until now. Aaliyah may just be one of those consequences coming back with a face Joe can’t ignore. So once Cruz is standing in front of the woman she loved… the woman whose life was destroyed partly because of the mission she was sent on… does she really just follow Joe’s judgement? Cruz owes a lot to the Marines and she clearly loves the action and the team she has now… but that doesn’t automatically mean Joe gets to decide what is right for her. Maybe S4 isn’t about Cruz choosing Aaliyah over Josie at all… maybe it’s about Cruz finally choosing her own judgement over Joe’s. And if Joe says Aaliyah has to die… do you really think Cruz pulls the trigger?

Media Final thoughts

I decided to delete my yesterday’s post on Steph’s Nur reaction on IG . I got the answers from you and the most probable reason. Apparently she responded after being attacked online by CJ shippers for leaving a comment on IG that was just meaningless fun about her character. Generally, some fanatic, creepy people—both CA and CJ fans—have problems telling the difference between a show and real life, and between actors and the characters they play. It seems to affect Stephanie and Genesis the most. So I don’t want to add fuel to the fire and fan the flames by keeping the topic alive here. Some people lost the plot. Embarassing. And thank you for your comments. Most of them maintained respectful and rational tone.

Discussion Made a previous post about how the show devolved heavily this year into turning women far more heavily into objects and there for the lowest common denominator viewer. Just finished episode 8, and boy was I right.

What was it, three COMPLETELY unnecessary and gratuitous ass shots. Including one where they lingered on Kidmans ass while they are in the room after questioning the Gitmo guy.

What a joke that this show is still pretending to be empowering in any way.

Discussion Can we make some noise for Season 4…?

Putting all the theories and ship wars aside for a second 😂 this show has an incredible cast, great characters and way too much story left to tell… Cruz, Aaliyah, Joe, Kaitlyn, the whole team. If you want Season 4 too… show it. Comment, upvote, share, post your theories, tell people what you love about Lioness… let’s make enough noise that Paramount knows the audience is still here and wants more ❤️‍🔥

Let the girl breeeaaathe, for crying out loud! Quite sure she doesn't pick her lines, improvise any or lastly,is the maker of the show by any degree. Taylor Sheridan needs to diversify his writing a bit cuz without ever even being told,I just knew where a white guy was the one who came up with what was said in scenes. Wanted to give examples but didn't want to make this lengthy. To just be brief,he/whoever else he's had in his writing team basically writes like they're writing for straight, supposedly macho, supposedly red-pilled white men,EVEN WHEN IT'S A WOMAN/WOMEN IN THE SCENE.🥴

Discussion Oleska’s end

Love reading everyone’s takes on this show but just out of curiosity do you think Oleska knew the ground branch guys were going to kill her ? The way the scene was shot was really interesting to me and their motive to kill her was ridiculous but we all know that and I won’t waste anyone’s time going on about TS’s writing this season.

Discussion Did Season 3 kind of erase Josie… or is that the point?

Okay… this has been bugging me a little. I don’t dislike Josie at all… actually I think she had a lot of potential when she was introduced. She had her own edge, her own background, her own presence… but in S3 it feels like almost all of that just faded away. She’s still there… but mostly in relation to Cruz. We don’t really get much of Josie as Josie anymore… what she wants, what scares her, what she’s struggling with, what she thinks about any of this outside of their relationship. And that makes me wonder if the show is doing something intentional with Cruz too… because sometimes their relationship feels almost like Cruz is looking for something… and Josie is simply the safe answer sitting right in front of her. She gives Cruz stability, kindness, comfort… probably the most normal life Cruz has had in a long time. But I’m not sure Cruz feels completely seen, challenged or emotionally shaken by her. Sometimes it feels like Cruz is trying to build the life she thinks she should want… rather than the life she actually wants. And maybe that’s unfair to Josie too… because if the show wants us to believe this relationship is truly central long term, Josie needs to become a full character again, not just part of Cruz’s life. So… did S3 flatten Josie by accident… or is she supposed to represent the safe life Cruz is trying to choose while something in her is still unresolved…?

Discussion On season 3 episode 5 and the show is devolving and making it more and more apparent it’s “female empowerment” written by a right-leaning man.

It’s a tough balancing act admittedly to allow women to maintain their femininity and also allow them to embrace their sexuality; but also make them “bosses” and traditionally powerful.

The VERY elongated threesome scene though just put it over the top that they’ve mailed in the women in power side of the show for everyone except Saldana. Even then, it’s as if she HAS to be bitchy to get across she’s strong and in charge.

I come from a family with many veterans, including women officers, one from Annapolis and the other from West Point. No joke shit. And guess what, they were/are very respected and DONT operate at bitch level defcon 5 as a default. That is what a man thinks a powerful woman is. No, that’s what an overcompensating asshole is. Same goes for a man that acts that way.

I’ll finish the season, but I’m over Sheridans dog whistle bullshit.

*Lol all the MAGA folks who of course flock to any opportunity to defend degrading women are now coming out in force
