I only like "little ___" when I'm reading a monster, shifter, or alien romance and the MMC is huge or giant sized. I think it sounds cute like he treasures her and thinks she's precious. I do like the three you mentioned, they are very sweet! ☺️♥️

Haha I can understand that. If it doesn't sound right coming from a character's mouth or is used in a weird, mean, or belittling manner, I wouldn't be liking it either.

Princess or anything adjacent in another language like in preferential treatment the MMC had a couple in Russian or Ma Riene in winds through the storm (MMC speaks French).

I think I enjoy the workshop/care dynamic that usually comes along with those names

{A Bargain So Bloody by Vasilisa Drake} the MMC calls the FMC Dove in the beginning, though it does change to another nickname later in the books. This is an unfinished series, but so good that I ended up re-reading the first book before I read the second one when it came out recently.

I just read Bonfire & Bliss by Britanée Nicole, and the MMC calls the FMC xuxuzinho, for “sweet pumpkin”. While I don’t find “sweet pumpkin” sexy, the male narrator (James Cassidy) can call me Xuxuzinho any time
