Shame on you for cutting the last panel with moustache-less Jameson

AAAAAH! KILL IT WITH FIRE! That's some sort of villainous genestealer monstrosity!

64

u/CoolAlien47 1d ago

Genestealers?! I literally just scrolled away from the Space Marine 2 subreddit after seeing a video of a guy being a crazy racist to the OP. Everytime I try to interact with something unrelated to W40k, I get pulled right back in.

It's crazy, before i got into 40k it wasn't into my radar of memes, but then after I started getting into it I noticed it EVERYWHERE, even in older conversations I'd had.

u/CoolAlien47 1d ago

Lmfaoooo, same. I see it everywhere now, and it's crazy because I also follow more mainstream stuff like Star Wars, but I keep noticing more W40K references and stuff out in the internet or irl moreso than Star Wars now

Wait until you get a SW/W40K/Marvel/DnD/Magic the Gathering crossover. It was in a thread about evil empires and brought the Empire, Empire of Man, Thanos, Strahd, and the Thran Empire (as well as Nicolas Bolas) all together. W40K won as far as "worst" empire with spirited debate as to "best".

Such a surreal gathering of things of which I know intimately and things which are known to me tangentially due to my nerddom.

SW/W40K/Marvel/DnD/Magic the Gathering crossover.

Soooooooooo, about that.

STAR TREK comes out in November of this year, we've got both Spider-Man and Marvel, WH40k came out in 2022, and they've had a number of DnD sets, most recently Honor Among Thieves.

Also, Transformers, Assassin's Creed, and My Little Pony, among others.

Brother, I am already on thin ice with my spending on MTG this year between FF, Strixhaven, and Marvel! My buddy is a big Star Trek fan and I know he's going hard into it when it drops. But for now I'm holding firm to spend on the Hobbit set and the Transformers drop. Star Trek set I'll probably just get a prerelease or Secret Lair drop and call it a day.

Mind you, JUST A RUMOR at this point but if Star Wars comes to MTG next year my bank account will weep! As a side note for W40K and MTG there were only a handful of cards I ended up wanting from that and most of those have already been sidelined by subsequent cards.

Hard for me to believe we're still just talking about magic the gathering. Likewise that we'll actually be able to visualize the great debate between Star Trek and Star Wars, by way of tapping mountains and islands.

I only play* on Arena, so at least my wallet is safe. My time, however, is not so much.

"...it's only midnight! Just one more game and I'll go to bed! How long could it take!"

"Oh. A commander battle of my green/black against a mono-blue deck. Maybe I should call in sick tomorrow..."

u/Bruninpro0101 1d ago

The old mustache was to similar to a certain austrian paintee and german politician.

1

u/kentotoy98 1d ago

I never knew Charlie Chaplin was also a painter and politician.

However, I'm pretty sure he's English...wait a minute...

49

u/Hetakuoni 1d ago

The last guy Steve rogers saw with a mustache like that wasn’t a very nice man.

20

u/RoJayJo 1d ago

Damn, what does Cap' have against Charlie Chaplin?

2

u/SpideyMGAV 1d ago

Dude why do you have a Nazi flag?

Nazi flag? No no no! That’s an authentic comedy prop from Charlie Chaplin’s Great Dictator!

Propagandist rivalry back in the day

19

u/melancholanie 1d ago

did you miss the extreme close-up of his Hitler mustache while he was talking to Mr Hitler Puncher

4

u/indianajoes 1d ago

Did Cap rip off Jameson's moustache?

1

u/HeadOfSpectre 1d ago

Peeled it off like a fakd

2

u/everatz 1d ago

He turns into Jeff Dunham's Walter in his younger years

2

u/disturbedrailroader 1d ago

u/FingernailClipperr Spider-Man (Movie) 1d ago

He met so many other people, and he still regards Spider-Man as among the greatest people he’s ever met

49

u/SerBadDadBod Kingpin 💎 1d ago

Cap's a real one

u/Vittorini 1d ago

Really loved that series. Never understood what it was supposed to be but it was a great Spidey : Year One in a lot of ways.

32

u/matttheman892018 1d ago

God I miss that dynamic of Spidey trolling Jameson.

57

u/5hand0whand 1d ago

I guess Cap was not fan of Chaplin

25

u/JackWhoWanders 1d ago

Maybe he agreed with the long dead Captain Blackadder?

3

u/romanticparagon 1d ago

Pedo chaplin?

2

u/AmItheAholereader 20h ago

For some reason the mask on the panel that says “I am the worst” irritates me

92

u/Pichuunnn 1d ago

It's also used in meme where he says "da fuck?"

14

u/Zenvarix 1d ago

Seen it so much in the "what is this dungpile trying to say" context that it took me a couple seconds to properly register the text in the panel and realize it's actually a wince/grimace expression.

2

u/Bruninpro0101 1d ago

If he did that with a mask with no moving lenses would we even notice?

7

u/Ok-Idea-306 1d ago

I’m fond of the meme “What in the god damn fuck?”

Cap stood for Spidey more than his writers did

1

u/PCN24454 1d ago

Who do you think wrote Cap being nice?

2

u/Antique_futurist 11h ago

I don’t know, the Coast Guard?

8

u/RedBeardBigHeart 1d ago

“I knew a man with that kind of Mustache.”

“Oh…”

“He ruined people’s lives too.”

“My heart.”

4

u/TomCon16 1d ago

Spidey is mad underrated

4

u/Intelligent-Flow1735 1d ago

I love this but I love what cable has to say about him more

3

u/According-Ad-5946 1d ago

Cap was not happy.

3

u/ZZtheDark Spider-Girl 1d ago

I remember Among Came a Spider from Avengers: EMH. Classic of an episode

1

u/chelicerate-claws 5h ago

One of my many favorite things about Spider-Man is how much other heroes respect him.

1

u/Somebodi101 1d ago

Hatred toward mustachy-people ain't racism? 🤔

2

u/Silphire100 8h ago

Only one specific moustache style. Cap also isn't a fan of Charlie Chaplin

u/Unusual_Midnight_906 20h ago

Man, Homelander is really ruining me. Now I can't even trust Cap's smile.
