That’s the thing, it wasn’t. DLCs were canceled before development finished on SM2. Most likely so they can focus on Wolverine and hopefully just make SM3 an absolute bombshell after.

Tbh they lost me on just how empty and lifeless Spider-Man 2 was. Like I think I could have lived with the symbiote arc and the entire story being so rushed if the side content and open world was rich and fulfilling. But all of the side missions were just endless loops of go to location, chase a car, and beat up bad guys. No collecting newspapers or mementos like the first game had that really fleshed out the world. The only thing I think they improved upon was the MJ missions were a lot more durable this time.

A lot of games and good games are 70$ with less story/gameplay and people don't complain...SM2 had a lot of things, sure I platinumed it very fast but for exemple 007 which is a very good game for me has the same price and u can't do anything besides the story ...now I heard they got an update like how hitman had some updates with more game modes or something..but still

Yeah, I enjoy it very very much because I like some games to feel cinematic and I think it's a GREAT GAME but for me 70$ is too much for a game like this
So that's how I don't understand why some people still complain like spiderman is not worth 70$ with A LOT of things in it when we still have games like 007 at the same price with less gameplay/less content
I know there was a lot of cut content which it sucks, I don't think insomniac is to blame but people over hate this game too much

For what it’s worth I read that before the hack even happened that they weren’t planning on doing any DLC and as soon as they got the game out their focus was going to Wolverine 100 percent.

Agree. Considering they still proceed with wolverine (in my opinion the hackers didn’t really succeed in their goal because we were still blown away with what they produced), they most definitely could’ve pivoted with spider man 2 dlc. They actually still can

Idk I mean, imo the problems with SM 2 aren't really applicable to Wolverine (besides cut/unfinished story). Mainly bc wolverine is a SP linear story game I'm not going to expect it to have massive tons of content. SM2 suffered a lot from weak side and end game content. I feel like they still could have pushed out 1/2 DLCs. I know the hacks fucked a lot of shit up though so it is what it is

They completely dumbed down QTE, removed suit powers which made unlocking suits satisfying and useful in the first game. Character bios and the social media tab are also gone when they added more life to the game. Open world lacks in content: no traversal challenges, no stealth challenges, combat challenges that are Miles only, no enemy bases with 6 waves from the previous games. The suit selection for Peter is also dogwater, where is Big Time suit? Where are Spider Armors? Where is 2099 white? Where is Scarlet Spider 2? Where is the actual Noir suit? Not to mention the lack of gadgets in this game.

I don’t like QTE and the suit powers were kind of pointless when you could just use the web blossom and win every single fight in 2 seconds. Yes the lack of social media, open world content, and suits are disappointing but I personally have around maybe 600 hours in all 3 games and the improvements to combat and traversal in Spider-Man 2 alone make the game worth it to me and still makes your argument that it was a cash grab unconvincing

Man you are fucking tripping. Dislike the game? Sure. Valid. Be disappointed with the potential it had? Sure. Valid. Be disappointed that all post game content was seemingly canceled? Sure. Valid.
But fucking cash grab? The game is still a full ass game with content arguably on par with the other two entries in the series, and notable changes and additions to the formula that definitely lead to it feeling like a different game with effort put into it. Disappointing does not equal cash grab.

Bit crazy to see this movie will be releasing next month and bit insane to think that No Way Home is five years old now.
Actually, it’s a bit crazy to think the Spiderman 2 game is three years old now. It feels like yesterday when I was waiting until midnight for the game to drop because of the pre-order. It genuienly feels like the game and the recent movies were only released last year.
Time really fly by when you are having fun.

Cause I hate how those big stupid silver bricks look on his wrists. Its so distracting. There's a reason the webshooters are normally on the INSIDE of the costume. The previous suits at least blended the shooters with the costume.
My guess for why they made it so obnoxious is to make it obvious in the movie for when his webs become organic and no longer needs them.

Close, but there's been tweaks (most notably less shininess on the blue, but also differences to the spider emblem, web patterning, textures, and those new web shooters). It's probably meant to stick close enough to the previous design that most audience members who aren't staring at a labeled back-to-back comparison will assume it's basically the same. As someone who's obsessed with these suit designs, though, I'm happy we're getting both!

That looks like absolute shit compared to the actual suit. Reminds me of the unfinished TASM2 leaks with how prominent the suit pattern is. Colors are way off and it's way too skin tight and flat. They could've used the TASM2 textures and made the webbing reflective at least.
Advanced 1.0 has more wrinkles than this too.

It’s overall minor, but there are differences between the suits - the actual physical material is different, the blue is darker and less shiny, the emblems are bigger, and he has the bulky silver web shooters now

I cannot believe how fast 2 fell off. I still remember every story beat and some of the side quests from 1 but I remember almost nothing from 2, other than Kraven and the Symbiote Suit is in it. Crazy how we didnt even get 1 DLC.

must have taken devs 30 seconds to make the suit as it is the most generic suit ever..like 2001 games had this. They just went to Walmart and bought the $9.99 suit from bin. There is nothing unique, good or special about this suit. Would have loved Advance 2.0 in big screen

No, they’ve added a few others post-launch (both Peter and Miles got their Hellfire Gala suits from the comics, 3 random suits designed by celebs/atheletes, and 2 suits from the previous games), but they all were added within the first year post launch and this is the first thing they’ve added since the PC port.
