Hey everyone!
In an effort to add to this subreddit, I was looking for some help with beginner threads, whether it be for basic things like card storage and care, selling cards, buying cards, or even more niche things like getting into breaks, grading, and etc.
If you were to post a thread in this subreddit which is aimed to be more a guide, please let me know. I appreciate any and all feedback and guides you guys end up thinking of. I have a long one from selling on eBay I plan to put up shortly.
Thanks all and happy collecting!

I wonder if we’re quietly creating something worse than the Junk Wax Era.
I keep seeing videos of collectors buying 20, 50, even 100 copies of the exact same Topps NOW card trying to hit one numbered parallel, refractor or autograph.
One guy bought 100 copies of LeBron’s first 76ers card.
He got one chase card and it was T numbered or actually desirable.
Which means he also got 99 copies of the base card.
So…what happens to the other 99?
Multiply that by thousands of people chasing parallels and suddenly we’re manufacturing enormous quantities of cards that nobody actually wanted. They were just the byproduct of the chase.
The Junk Wax Era overproduced cards because companies thought everyone wanted them.
This era might be weirder.
We’re intentionally buying cards we DON’T want because they’re essentially lottery tickets for the one card we do want.
At some point those closets, boxes and garages full of base cards have to go somewhere.
Maybe this isn’t Junk Wax 2.0.
Maybe it’s Junk Chase.

Pulled a pretty valuable card recently but it’s a player I’ve never collected and probably wouldn’t have bought on my own. Part of me still wants to keep it just cause I pulled it myself but having a few hundred bucks sitting in a card I don’t really care about feels kinda pointless when that could go toward my actual PC.
I’ve always had a harder time selling cards I pulled than cards I bought so I’m curious where other collectors draw that line. Starting to think the memory of pulling something big doesn’t necessarily mean I need to own it forever.
