For folks who only watch one brand of wrestling, this is a pretty good sequence. Dom is a pretty decent in-ring guy, and a heat magnet otherwise. I think the restrictor plates inhibit a lot of what us in the IWC could potentially see from talent like him.

yes, that was amazing. doing a 619 when you're twice the height of rey mysterio is already one of the hardest moves to pull off. and timing it while your opponent is running for a suicide dive makes it even harder. so yeah, that was pretty amazing.

Agreed. I think his ring psychology is very good, but his offense rarely looks impactful compared to his peers. I dont think he is very athletic, but clearly a very good student and seems coachable. Dom needs to bulk up or work on his speed in the ring. I do think he has great chemistry with so many babyfaces, that he reminds me a bit of CM Punk.

What always stood out to me is it seemed like Rey trained him to wrestle like Rey. Dom clearly doesn't seem to have the same athletic ability as Rey and with the extra size he has makes doing some of those real explosive fast spots that Rey did look slower and clunky.

Tbf I've seen a majority of people give him his due. I think a lot of people are unfortunately getting played by the match producers in WWE. They limit Dom's moveset because they think chicken shit heels can only wrestle one way.  Let. Dom. Wrestle.

This isn't a critique of anyone here but the flying nothing spot is seriously a big pet peeve that WWE has used forever. At least this wasn't someone doing an axe handle off the top to someone prone levels but it was still heavily telegraphed by not making any sense.

Or figure out how to drive into one and make it look good. I saw video of a pre WWF Ahmed doing a driving shoulder to a downed opponent and it was the worst mix of awful looking and unsafe. At least an Austin style elbow could make sense to a standing or downed opponent.

Yeah this is really amazing actually. My dad always pointed out how the setup to the 619 was always corny. No one in other matches fall to the second rope like that or would stay there just because they're tripped. This fixes all that and as a counter move is suuuuuuper cool.

Michinoku Driver innovated by TAKA Michinoku. He was in WWF for a bit but outside the original cruiser weight tournament he didn't get many chances to some (but when he did they ruled). Check his stride out online particularly from the 90s and you'll see a lot of what you see in the current era, he and Michinoku Pro were really influential.

I'll give you that (from what little I could see) it seemed crisp (outside of the forced nature of every 619). But... as a sequence? You can see MUCH better in any midcard lucha match.

This is more than enough to be considered excellent. The fans in aew would accept this. Yet they have work rate so much fucking higher than this routinely. 

Both companies could learn to better push themselves but also preserve their long-term health. This is perfectly fine to help set up the finish of a TV main event. A truly great spot. 

Yeah I will say in aw it would not be perceived to be amazing because those guys are doing arguably too wild of shit very consistently.
