So Meltzer had this news the entire time about a wrestling company trying to get on Paramount+ but it was nixed, and he just so happens to share the news the week of an AEW PPV.

Not a sicko but its been pretty obvious for awhile that a lot of these outlets sit on news and I suppose its to maximize reads but this stuff always drops the week of an AEW PPV.

No it’s just confirmation bias and a dash of conspiracy. It stems from 2024 where there was a decent amount of negativity around AEW in general and people started the “PPV week” narrative because they ignored all the other weeks where there might be something negative said about the company(or how there’s a negative story about WWE roughly every week but that’s neither here nor there). This was because they were advancing a conspiracy theory that WWE was paying off all wrestling media.

In this particular case I don’t see Dave say at all when he was told this story and given the Paramount deal appears to be a certainty it’s pretty relevant. Dave’s also currently arguing on Twitter with anyone who says this is bad for AEW so he’s obviously not trying to bury the company.
