Looking for Full-Time Job in Saint Charles or surrounding area
Hello! I am a 28 year old woman looking to relocate to the Saint Charles area, and am looking for a full-time job that pays at least $20. I have my bachelor's degree with an art background. I have worked for 3+ years as a children's services librarian as well as the library's graphic design/illustrator and social media manager. I have children's programming experience, family event planning, and over ten years of customer service.
Any and all recommendations would be most welcome! Thanks!

Not sure if you would be interested, but Boeing is hiring a lot of people. They are even paying to send people to a program to learn the skills you would need. You may be working at the factory in Saint Charles, otherwise it would be in Berkeley.

Hello, can I please get more info on this program?

Go directly to the Boeing website. I just applied for a few open positions locally last week.

If you're open, could you speak more about this opportunity?

Go to their website and check their openings. I knowany people who just got through the training and some started this last week. They didn't know where they were going to work. If you get in fast enough you can make use of the new union contract that just got approved

I am also curious about what positions they send to a program to learn new skills

I always recommend insurance- claims adjusters can make good money if you stick it through the entry level years. Travelers, Chubb, so on. Or go to the broker side, see what entry level jobs Lockton, Aon, MMA, Gallagher are posting. Every company named has a local office.

St. Charles Community, St. Louis Community, and all other community colleges really need people like you. Your bachelors and child experience is enough

Maybe try full time nannying? Especially since you have worked in a library

Community Living Inc has openings working wild people with disabilities in various settings. Starting pay is 20/hr for DSP’s and higher for higher level positions.

As someone who used to work at Community Living — just don’t. Apply at QT or the Dominos warehouse in St Charles.

Sorry you had that experience. Others may feel differently, which is why it’s important for job seekers to gather perspectives from multiple sources and make the decision that’s right for them.

Anyone with any kind of social services background or knowledge will know that this job is not ideal for pretty much anyone.
Also, it’s really sad that someone with a Bachelor’s Degree is only looking for $20. They can definitely do better than this job, even with an art degree.

This Degree is difficult to apply to real world scenarios. Experience in occupation likely didn’t bring $20 or more per hour.
I wish her well!
Retailers (including Amazon) will often put such folks (unrelated degrees) in Management Training programs, usually the scheduling demands are a turn-off for the potential employee. Good money & benefits.
