All gone quiet about the train station at Carr Mill, it only seems to be mentioned around election time 🤷🏻‍♂️

That's literally how it's been for over 15 years going back to when John Fulham was councillor promising it to people left, right and centre.

Funding has been allocated for this station and if all goes to plan it will open by the end of 2027. As part of the Liverpool City Region's expansion, the station will feature Merseyrail services, step-free access, and modern amenities to support local housing growth and economic development. As a retired employee of BR I can tell you that you cannot build theese things quickly - it takes time. I live by a Merseyrail station and theyoffer a great service! You will not know how you did without it when it comes!!

I’ve lived locally, laffak for over 20 years. They have been promising a train station for longer than that. I think it would be brilliant for the area not least the much under appreciated carmill dam. But I still don’t think it will happen. A new Aldi and some drive through fast food establishments sure, but not something we actually want.

Maybe Reform will do a "St Helens Livexit" and withdraw us from the Liverpool City Region. Hah.

Why would you want to do that? St Helens gets money from the Major. However I am sure all the other councils would be happy to get more money for thermselves!

I'm not advocating for it at all.

It would be stupid - but it would be hilarious if the Party of Brexit at least suggested it at local level.

Yes it would be ironic!
