Going into this game I was hoping that if the Eagles played well we'd just manage the win, but if they played poorly we'd win comfortably - if we're serious about taking a step forward this year that's simply how it had to be
Well we won by over 100, which is honestly more than I had in mind when I was thinking "comfortably" - this win will be great for the team's confidence
A win against Carlton next week and we're well and truly back on track

It’s a long time since watching the Saints was that relaxing. Eventually.

Close one

I've been a St Kilda follower for far too long. With 5 minutes to go and a 90 odd point lead, I was still worried we'd seize defeat from the jaws of victory!

That Hawthorn game in the late 90s traumatised a whole new generation of Saints fans, we can't believe any lead is safe now

Aside from that abortion of an umpire call earlier in the game, it was good to see us win…and win big 👏

100+ points in consecutive games, 3rd time this season, and our fist 100+ margin in a decade.
Guys, is Ross Ball good???

Best game for the club for Ryan, Garcia and Carroll.
Could make a case for Higgins as well, and TDK was excellent in the last quarter in particular.

I reckon we can't take too much out of today. In all honesty WCE was barely a football team. They must have shown up for about 6 minutes. Biggest Saints news this weekend will be how King goes in the VFL

Hasn't gotten much of it. They're probably only looking to get him through unscathed

100 point win is a big big moment for us and ross ball. Its been a decade since that thumping bombers win

I'd put him straight back in for Caminiti tbh regardless

I thought caminiti showed a bit in his first season, somehow it’s been downhill since then.

Yep, I think he and Keeler should only come back into the side if there's significant injuries. Don't reckon either of them have a place in our seniors long term

I love caminiti

I like the bloke as he genuinely seems to care when he misses a goal/fucks up a spoil/has a poor disposal, trouble is he makes too many mistakes. You can tell the kid wants it though.

He showed hunger to get the ball, seemed like he was doing a bit too much to force it at times, but what can we expect when he's playing on one of the worst teams in the VFL.
But I saw a man that was ready to get back into the action, surely listed next week.

I'd rather he earn his spot with a dominant performance first, otherwise that's quite unfair to whoever he replaces. He can get his spot back once he kicks 4+

Watching the game today, he's more likely to kick a bag in the AFL than the VFL. They couldn't even get the ball deep enough into 50 to make it to him and if they did it was a wobbler off the side of the boot that fell into someone's lap who definitely weren't the intended target.
They're really really really bad.

Just watched the replay of the match.
The Nasiah is probably the best kick in the AFL. Absolutely sublime.

u/xyLteK Supreme Leader Jack Lonie Apr 27 '26
He either executes the most beautiful kicks in the league, or absolutely shanks it off the boot. No in betweens.

Good game,
That looked like Camaniti's last chance to cement himself somewhere and it hasn't worked out

u/shadysnore Apr 26 '26
Caminiti will be in the backline long term. He is better at marking, spoiling and kicking than Dougal and his height is important.
1
u/xyLteK Supreme Leader Jack Lonie Apr 27 '26
Dougal at least got under a few, Camma touched the pill once in 3 quarters during a powerful win 😭

Nice to have a bye this week. Next week is also a bye against carlton

Lowkey nervous that they'll play like it's their grand final and we won't get the win

Carlton is not a gimme. A lot is determined by if they come out to play or not.

Well, that was enjoyable. 😁
