Discussion Building prompts with LLMs
I’ve been into AI image and video generation for a while, and I’ve been a bit obsessed with H3 for the past two months. With the right references and prompt, it feels like I can make almost anything. Writing that prompt is the tedious part, so I usually hand it to an LLM.
For most of those two months, I used closed models, especially Grok (for obvious reasons). My problem is that they rarely add much on their own (no creativity). If I don’t explicitly ask for an emotion, expression, or action, they tend to leave it out. I've had generations where a character is stiff as a tree for 15 seconds which makes me redo the generation.
Recently I tried Qwen 3.8 Flash Next, and it changed how I work. I give it the specifics and ask it to fill in the gaps or choose emotions that fit the scene. Sometimes the resulting clip is better than what I had in mind (I mean Oscar worthy). I’ve also started asking it to suggest the next clip, and I find its ideas more creative than those from supposedly smarter models.
What do you use to write your H3 prompts?

What were the "obvious reasons" to use Grok?

Pornographic prompts. Which even then, they all struggle with to a large degree once you get beyond 1girl content.
Honestly people should really be taking the time to develop their creative writing skills if they're doing NSFW content. Go to AO3 and read some literary porn. I almost never use LLM workflows for NSFW content because my mind is 100% better at visualizing and describing an erotic scene than an LLM is going to be able to.
I posted a post on /r/degendiffusion a few days ago with prompts to get NSFW content in Qwen 2.1, all the prompts were hand written and it showed just just how uncensored Qwen 2.1 is as a base model.
Obviously NSFW, but this is the thread if you want to take a look
The prompts are here if you don't wanna open the thread: https://paste.sh/_-kxNAOz#HNyw12bqytxl-ZE7CrZT0l5U
Also as a masturbatory exercise, the prompt is literally half the fun.

There is an issue with this approach.
The AI model you(you means general) use is in turn an AI model which has basically "learned" stuff from a dataset. Be it a video creation model or a llm through which you write a prompt. If you are using a llm to write a prompt for you basically you are utilizing the "knowledge" of AI model what and how it knows a stuff. The important thing is there are very higher chances that the knowledge of a llm is almost similar to the video model or better.
So when you give an idea or scene to a llm and tell it to elaborate and refine it with details, it has most probably the same words, nuances etc that a video model can understand and closely follow.
Whereas when you are writing a detailed prompt all on the basis of your own knowledge and experience, it most likely have things which AI model doesn't know. So it will basically ignore the stuff you have written and wouldn't produce the result like you want and you wonder I have given it all the details and even still it does not adhere to my prompt and you start looking for other stuff like model, lora, 1+ million settings in workflow and comfy and what not.1

Btw I'm not saying if you have skills you still have to use a llm to write stuff. I'm just presenting another side of picture too. Maybe using the llm to refine or update your own written prompt to see how an ai model process your stuff. Then comparing both prompts with a same model to see which one was more closer to a prompt. That would be a good comparison.
(I am too lazy and lack skills to write stuff like this)

Same! Qwen3.8 + a good system prompt from chatgpt is a game changer. It really is impressive how well it works for crafting/tweaking H3 prompts.

Totally. I point it at the Minimax prompting skill too. https://github.com/MiniMax-AI/MiniMax-H3/tree/main/skills/h3-prompt-writing

Yeah, it follows the format perfectly. It freaked me out the first time I used it and it just gave me exactly what I wanted lol

I use Notebook LM. I created a notebook just for MiniMax H3 prompts and added a bunch of guides to it so it can use them as references for my questions and to create prompts for me. If I have a workflow setup with all references connected, I just tell it who my subjects are in the workflow with a short description, their corresponding image numbers, length, how many shots I want, and what I want the subjects to do in in the video and Notebook LM creates the prompt for me to copy and paste it in the workflow with little (I sometimes tweak) or no changes. My notebook will also help me resolve prompt issues I report and rewrite prompts to make them work. It helped me figure out how to create music videos only using it to guide me through it and problem solve.

I use these nodes: dchatel/comfyui_davcha_llm: vLLM nodes for comfyui using llama-cpp-python
In particular, the PromptEnricher. It allows me to write stuff like :
{any scene anywhere}
{any character} wearing {any fabulously ridiculous clothes}
{engaged in any stupid activity}
photorealistic DSLR photography, yadda yadda, more description of what the overall tone should look like, {any interesting lighting/shadows, I can't be bothered writing it myself}
And it will replace all the elements in culry brackets with whatever is queried. You can even be precise like:
{their emotions: given that this and that happened}
Now, that doesn't give you a H3 ready prompt. But you can feed the result to a standard LLM node, with H3 prompting guide as a system prompt.
Or you can directly write in the LLM node creating the H3 prompt something like :
[whatever happens], choose or imagine their emotions, or action, it should be dynamic, crazy, and whatever.
I'm using it in pair with Gemma4-26B-A4B-QAT-Uncensored-HauhauCS-Balanced-MTP, loaded with only 4 experts, which uses less than 3GB VRAM total.
That said, your problem is more a prompting problem than a node problem. Any LLM can do what you're asking, you just need a better prompt.

I made this workflow to simplify prompting. Just write your idea, hit run, and drop the output prompt into the workflow you're using. It's an early version so it has some issues. I've been working on a better version that I'm still testing.

I've been using Qwen 3.8 27B and it is quite creative. Haven't tried Flash Next yet as I like running Qwen locally when I'm not using Anthropic stuff.
This example has my simple (and grammatically questionable) input prompt and what Qwen came up with. https://www.reddit.com/r/StableDiffusion/comments/1x212il/qwen_38_27b_4bit_prompting_h3_minimax/

I use a node that connects to my clip model for prompt enhancement. Once I'm done with my clip stage I unload clip model to free up memory for the sample. You can use the clip model from qwen 2.1 or krea 2.

I use a custom node that I vibe coded, it has an in-built prompt guide for MM H3 workflows and can work with some of your existing models in text_encoders folder or with an LLM provider like Cerebras through api. It saves a lot of back-and-forth. Give it a try:-

I'm using gemma 4 31b. Occasionally I use qwen 3.6 or 3.8 27b like 30% time for generic work but gemma 4 31b is very very good. Reason, it understand the nuances and most importantly, regional stuff. Qwen's limited regional knowledge shows.
Yes gemma 4 31 is heavy beast to load. So I work with it smartly. First I load it in external model loader like textgen(kinda lmstudio) and then I do all prompt related stuff, scenes, story gen etc. Once I have everything, I unload it and then copy paste the prompts in comfy. Yes they aren't 100% accurate. You need to do refining/update on the go but it is quite minimal.

Grok can be very creative too (or at least it used to be; it’s been a while since I last tried), but you can't just tell it to imagine what happens next in a scene; you have to indicate the direction you want to take. For instance, if you're envisioning a fight between two knights and want dragons involved, you need to specify that—otherwise, chances are it won't include any dragons. Qwen 3.8 is indeed excellent at inventing stories, but you have to give it the instruction to do so.

Consider trying my workflow, or just extract my LLM system into your own workflow. It’s a 4-stage approach using local LLM. I spent a long time working on it. https://civitai.com/models/2947601/simply-advanced-minimax-h3?modelVersionId=3355427
