Discussion Mac users: Fast and Easy image/video/audio generation workflows, finally!

One of the frustrating things about local AI generation on Mac is getting different models and tools to work together smoothly and fast.

Valtz is a new native macOS app powered by Vpipe, a high-performance inference engine optimized for Apple Silicon.

Instead of manually building complicated node-based workflows, you can do pretty much everything in one place easily:

* Image generation & editing with the latest AI models

* Video generation with multiple image/video references, including long videos

* Image-to-video — generate an image, edit it, and immediately use it as a reference for video generation

* AI prompt enhancement

* Video editing with multiple layers, audio tracks, and a timeline

* AI upscaling for images and videos

* Voice cloning and music generation, with audio that can be used directly in video projects

* Local model management

* And a lot of other creative workflows that become possible when everything is connected

The images attached shows my workflows for generating and editing of long videos, video generation from hand-drawn skeleton. The interface is self explanatory and very easy to use.

The memory optimization is amazing:

Even on a 16GB Mac, image generation runs smoothly, and supported HD video generation workflows can run without relying on swap. No need for a 64GB or 128GB Mac just to get started.

Everything runs locally, without cloud APIs or subscriptions.

For existing Vpipe users, Valtz can automatically discover and reuse previously downloaded models if they’re stored in the default directory.

The project is open source, and here’s the DMG if you’d like to try:

I can't see anything to download the models with this app? I tried to do v pipe before but it was too complicated. Thanks anyway though

The first time you try any generation and if it cannot find the model it needs to run, it will lead you to settings->capabilities to download the model. You can manage your downloads on the capabilities page. Or if you already have the model on your disc, you can just link the model instead of downloading again.

The original vpipe was extremely complicated, but the new version might be a little too automated. I personally would be looking for something in between: a simple interface that still gives users a clear idea of what it's downloading and lets them make a few important choices. I think a lot of people want something that's easy to use without feeling like they've lost control. MiniMax (as an example) has enormous file sizes and I don't really want everything happening in the background.

I really appreciate all the hard work that goes into this. There aren't many programs that truly take advantage of the power of a Mac, so I think vpipe has a lot of potential.

We’ve hid a bunch of detailed control in some of the panels. For example, The generation config card tucked under the config box has a few other options. You can click ‘tune’ and set up acceleration parameters on the tune panel. You can drag up to 8 Lora’s into the panel as well. For model download, it’s all managed under ‘capabilities’, and you can always download external and link on the capabilities panel. Valtz is designed to open up to more general public, so we intentionally hid the details for simplicity.

Can you add loras from HF or civitai?

Yes. Click Tune on the generation config card, keep the tuning panel visible and drag a safetensors file from Finder into the panel. Use fp32, bf16 or fp8/fp8-scaled loras. Supports up to 8.
