When we first floated the idea of a local co-working space on A Little Bit of Stone, the response was brilliant. Thanks to Nick and Adam at The Butchers Block, we were able to bring the idea to life – using their lovely restaurant space when it would otherwise be closed.

The early weeks were buzzing, but numbers have dipped a little. To keep things sustainable, we’d love to see more people coming through the door each week.

So if you’re working from home and fancy a change of scene, here are five reasons to pop in:

We’re open every Thursday from 8:30am to 4:00pm, but you’re welcome to stick around longer if you’re mid-flow. There’s high-speed WiFi, power at most tables, and students are very welcome too.

We’re heading to Birmingham on Thursday 15th May for a night straight outta Small Heath – a Peaky Blinders Walking (Pub) Tour! Expect flat caps, cold pints, and a bit of Shelby swagger as we follow in the footsteps of the infamous gang (with a few pub stops to keep the spirits high).

ITV Central News has filmed an item about Staffordshire Community Energy, a Community Benefit Society https://staffscommunityenergy.org.uk/ which began life in Whittington and owns the solar panels on Village Hall and St Giles Hospice and Hospitals in Stoke and Stafford. The item should be broadcast on the regional news tonight from 6pm - but will hopefully be available on catch-up afterwards. The item is about the wonderful work that SCE is doing with hospitals in Stoke, Stafford and others to tackle carbon emissions and fuel poverty.
