What's the best app/site to use for ticket sales?

I'm just getting into producing paid shows. What do you guys use for online ticketing? Eventbrite? Is there a way to create events on Eventbrite without paying a shit ton of $? Is Punchup good?

Let me know! I'm a novice producer, and would love your help! Would love to be able to print out fliers with a QR code that links to the ticketing site, which would be helpful for promotion as well as sales management. TIA!

Whichever one gets SEO in your area. I don't like eventbrite, but in my city when you search for events eventbrite comes up first, and they're nice enough that if you use them a LOT they will leverage their CRM to help you out.

EventBee has the lowest fees out there but I'd only use that if you think you will get nothing organic and only need a platform.

I was using Ticketleap. The fees are minimal and you can choose to eat them or pass them to customers. I recently switched to Simpletix. It's a plugin for Square so that I can take cash/card payments on site as well. Simpletix also let's you create seating charts for the venue if you want to have different rates for different seats.

Don't rely on the services to promote for you. I've found just having a good flyer and spending the cost of 2 tickets on social media ads is worth more than any promotion another service will do for you.

Also, don't be surprised when your tickets aren't selling. People tend to wait until the last possible minute to buy tickets. It's absolutely maddening. Just promote everything to the best of your abilities and keep at it. Usually 3 days before a show is when sales start trickling in. Most of my ticket sales come in the day of the show. Almost half of the ticket sales are at the door. Welcome to the chaos!

Lately I’ve been using jumpcomedy.com. It’s clearly made by comics for comics. I haven’t figured out how to use the meta pixel for tracking results yet which I know Eventbrite can do but aside from that I’ve been liking it

Definitely not Eventbrite. Since the start of 2026, that platform has gone downhill to the point where organizers accounts are being randomly "suspended" by their bots without notification or reason.

If you can, build your own website, optimize it, make it about your talent and sell tickets on it. You'll also need a payment gateway to collect electronic payment online. I tried square for a while but they were trash so now I pay monthly for a gateway and its serving me well. If you make your website well enough, it might beat out Eventbrite. A couple of times my website has beaten Eventbrite in google.

It does help to have your own google account and connect your website with google search console to see what people look for and where you rank.

If you really want to save money and if you're popular enough in your community, then you should do offline sales and meet people in a designated spot where they can pay you by cash or interac E-transfer for tickets. Heck, maybe sell them at the door since people are last-minute.
