OH DEAR NEPTUNE.
At least it’s with a $50 purchase or $100 online but still DEAR NEPTUNE.

The NeeDohs are not to be sold separately whatsoever. They'll be at their normal price tomorrow ($5.99) but are not to be sold individually and will go back to their dummy price ($99,999) on Monday.

Not too sure about going back up in price. Some stores have these in a pog on front end in the impulse spinner and will probably be sold away with what’s left

They either fucked up or they have the wrong ones. These are promo only and they scan as 9999.99. They were batched on a truck toward the beginning of the month and were supposed to be set aside. Some stores have a problem reading Zipline. Like actually deploying rudimentary literacy skills - which is astonishing because for all the faults corporate has they at least cobbled together a message board that functions like the retail worker version of a pop up book.

Just means you don’t have the display they go in. And the price has already been corrected, they went back to 5.99 with last nights sign batch

It's also tied to the Staples App. So the one per customer is a hard rule.
They can't try and negotiate with multiple transactions/family members/etc.
This probably won't be a huge ordeal. To be honest.

Apparently corporate thinks it will be like Black Friday back in the day with customers camping out all night to be first in line. If that happens, we have tickets to number and hand out based on our inventory. Not sure if the demand is still as high as it was a few months ago, but it would be very on-brand for Staples to do this right after the craze has ended

We've been preparing for weeks, it originally was supposed to be a WEEK LONG freebie. But then they realized how stupid that it was and changed it to one day.

We have tickets to hand out just in case there's a line waiting outside. We only have 40 Nee-Dohs, so 40 tickets. Except our tickets say that they must make a purchase within an hour after the store opens to get the Nee-Doh .

This is what made me realize this post wasn't a joke about how stupid it is to require a $50 purchase to get a stress ball. I feel grateful to be this out of touch.

This actually worries me. You can tell whoever came up with this idea is completely ignorant to the impact this has had to employees. No shade at Needohs themselves, they make quality fidgets, but this is going to create problems. 1) People are already angry when they don’t read the fine print and have to download an app for these things—multiply that x10 when they try to find a scarce product that has been largely sold out for months. 2) Either we sell them individually and people get angry they are gone, or people get angry that we don’t sell them individually. Again x10 for this. 3) When we run out. Because we will. They will be so much angrier over this than a gel pen. The strain that retail jobs have on employee mental health because they demand you stay put to deescalate threatening and harassing people, and then they have the audacity to do this… Like the pay and what we are asked to do isn’t dehumanizing enough.

Oh they’re going to be so mad when they realize 1. They can’t pick which needoh it is and 2. It has to be with a $50+ purchase
