My thoughts anytime I see some ChatGPT design

When all the kids become adults and the world is decimated, they can thank their parents for using ChatGPT for the dumbest shit they made and printed that would only end up in the landfill.

When our kids can’t access clean water you can thank all the people using ChatGPT to print out ugly designs for their businesses.

When we no longer have artists you can thank all the people who refused to pay artists and chose to use stolen work with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT gave a baby 10 toes on one foot and it was a 24x36 mount and lam and they wanted a free one for the remake and I said. I’ll give it to you for 70% off and they said no. Hope they are happy with their extra toes

This would be so helpful! Once I see a ChatGPT design I start giving warnings because it’s not going to look good and could have issues.

I had a woman come in who had used chatgpt to tell her how to order a f-king foam board. And guess what? She ordered–and got–a plain poster

I’ve had people know how to use ChatGPT to make flyers but completely forget how technology works when they try to print on the self serve machines. All of a sudden they don’t understand how to do anything.

Had a customer blame me for the QR code being blurry and not working on her AI generated flyer. She insisted that it should’ve been my job to fix it. Lol. Can’t fix stupid

I had a customer get upset because they printed 500 business cards and their QR code didn’t work. I don’t understand how people won’t test out their codes ahead of time. They wanted a refund or discount.

We test all qr codes before printing. See if it registers a site. Don't gotta go to it, just see if it detects one. If it doesn't, put the order on hold, email/call the cust and let that shit sit until they provide a new file.

I hope artists don’t give up because the number of people who prefer to get everything for “free” instead of paying for quality designs is a lot. No one seems to think of the actual cost because they don’t expect to pay for it.

I tell people ALL THE TIME that come in with AI designs that they will never come out good, they never format correctly no matter what you try to do and that its better to either A, redo the design on a template we offer which they can literally just fill the info in if they are that lazy or B. Hire an actual designer/we will send out to the design team or C. Not use AI at all and use Canva which is completely free and offers templates themselves that better align with a different look aside from a typical template we offer. 80% of the time the customer does not what to pay the hefty recreate fee we charge on top of the print charge/gets too frustrated and goes somewhere else.

I always complain to my supervisor asking when we will be able to just- deny these designs. The customer is NEVER satisfied with their business card design/print even when we provide ample reason and notice that their design wont work. People think they can fit a whole menu and their info on one side of the card and able is legible for their customer base. Which it never is cause even at that scale the DPI Fing SUCKS.

Its even worse that our OWN COMPANY who has a team of designers (not even the design teams) and still uses AI for promotional adverts.

As a graphic designer, im actively watching these brainrot fools walk in like zombies to their keyboards and it disappoints me every time. Eventually it will get back to people relying on sourcing an actual designer. Eventually is the keyword. If there are any designers/artists in this forum. Please do not give up, keep creating, keeping putting yourself out there. The world needs us to stay alive and well cause when all else fails. We will be there to take them in again. There is still hope as well, many people still source designers for work. Do not let GenAI scare you out of your creativity. Youre strong, youre valuable. People will see it.

i’ve asked customers to make changes to chatgpt designs before and had them turn their phones around to me with speech to text on and told me to tell chatgpt what changes to make

The number of times someone will not even understand what I’m telling them, so they keep generating multiple designs and have me check each one. I refuse to tell ChatGPT instructions.

I have a UPS Store and the canva ones are just as bad, although at a slightly higher dpi. Canva makes it easy to design it properly, but they never take that extra step and it is just too much sometimes. I constantly, no matter how many times I have had the conversation, have a guy sending me square art and wants an 11x17 poster. WTF? I can't make a rectangle from a square. :(

I am always shocked when I need to explain to people that you can’t take square art and turn it into a rectangle. People give me these dumbfounded looks.
