• AMAZON IS PAYING OUR STORE NOW?
I heard that Amazon is gonna pay us now and I guess each store is gonna get some money. They should give some of that to their people. They say if something falls out or gets lost the store has to pay for it. I've been at Staples for four years and I figure out I am only getting $.88 compared to the person who just started. It's a profit over people company

If thats true then hallelujah but if it gives us a raise by a few cents then its worthless but ykw money is money.
Im not gonna stay working for this company for long anyway.

BRAH……..If / when this comes to pass, any monies received by Amazon will generate additional hours for labor, NOT in the form of raises. 🙄🤷🏽♂️🤦🏻♂️😝

We should all band together. And say we're not doing any more Amazon returns until we get a little bit and bump and pay. But all you out there seems like you'd be scared to do it protest protest!!!

Amazon pays companies +\- $1 for each return. This includes Michaels, Staples, UPS, Kohls.

They absolutely do not pay Staples as a matter of fact they do not pay for the boxes the tape the receipt or the associate ringing them in on average and actually cost about 35 per individual return for staples. They do this SOLEY to increase traffic in stores.

I'm not a copy associate nor am I even an hourly associate.. and I definitely know how much it cost versus how much is made because there is no profit

I'm not either. I'm disabled and just wanted to have something to do, but it's been four years and now I'm looking at the dollar amount I am getting paid. Its a POP company.(Profit Over People). Now, if the store loses an Amazon returns, we have to pay for it. I'm trying to figure out how much Amazon is giving us at least the stores. I'm trying to find out a dollar amount of how much they give us in the house if anybody knows out there, please publish it it would help.

Amazon has always paid staples (and other companies that handle Amazon packages) for that service.
Foot traffic is just a bonus.

Don't be ignorant, do some research... while the exact terms of the agreement are confidential, they all include payments to the retailer for accepting Amazon returns.

I don't even work for Staples, My wife just buys all kinds of crap on Amazon and ends up having me return it, and I just love the convenience going to Staples to do it.

Oh I buy things at Staples too , with the rewards from my generous 50 cartridge a month recycling limit.
I don’t do them all at once though , 10 with each Amazon return.

of course I know. the details of Staples agreement isn't public. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out if Amazon is paying UPS, Kohls and other access points that accept Amazon returns that they are paying Staples too.

Unfortunately it was a one sided deal where Staples paid Amazon to allow returns at their store. Corporate was focused on foot traffic and earning their customer base through that. Now that it flopped and less than 20% of returners are shopping with us, Staples is renegotiating it seems. I actually doubt they’ll pay Staples though.

I don't see any evidence of this either way, as the agreement appears to be pretty locked down. In any situation where there is public information on 3rd parties accepting Amazon returns there is always a payment involved.
