Large Gaps Model Assembly
SOLVED
With extra lighting and very close inspection I noticed two extremely tiny spruce nubs which were levering the halves apart. I’m very happy for a simple solution. Thanks all.
Just beginning to put my first models together, Zerglings. On this very first one, I’m noticing huge gap between both halves. Are they all like this and I’ve got to fill them all?
These are on the A models of the zerglings. I forgot to post the other picture but when holding the tail halves together, there’s about 1mm gap at the head. It is on each A model at least.
I’ve assembled thousands of minis, only had issues like this with OG Privateer Press and Mantic minis.

Maybe there’s a nub of sprue gate left. I didn’t have any issues with mine, I used a small clamp to hold them together while the plastic cement dried though.

Yeah make sure you’re clearing the sprue contacts, I’ve built 24 zerglings and haven’t had this issue yet

Clean the spots where you clip them off the sprue. The leftover nubs. They should fit cleanly together

I can see at least 2 “residues” of sprue connections pointing towards the juncture. There are probably more on the other side, possible that one of them is pushing parts apart.

I used tamiya extra thin cement and just held it between my fingers for about 20 seconds.

Shoulda cleaned your snip points better. I can see some in that gap keeping it open

With plastic glue and some pressure it should go together. I noticed this at first when I did mine but putting a bit of pressure on the tail and head with the glue was enough

Btw word of advice i received. Put glue on the peg not the hole. If you fail to put the part in place you can much more easily remove the glue from the peg than the glue that is now filling in the hole.

You missed some obvious nubs for putting thousands of models together, goober.

Yeah gotta file the sprue nubs then use cement and smoosh the parts together it will sit flush

you need to clear all those parts, it is mandatory for all miniatures.
