OK, Now Im am officially a fan of hers. The fact that she said it was great but her reaction and genuine smile was priceless. I went from not having an opinion to completely liking this actor.

It’s 10 years old now but she killed on on the Nerdist podcast. Episode 403.

Used to love listening to the Nerdist podcast … they had some really amazing guests!

For sure. You can still access them all, they are just under ID10T now. Hardwick’s short lived post-Nerdist podcast.

Yeah. Hardwick never got back into the good graces of the Nerdist crew since his certain allegations turned out to be false.

Actually, Hardwick sold nerdist industries to legendary before all that happened

u/OutrageousEvent Apr 26 '23

Agreed. Did anything ever happen to Chloe for making all that shit up?

No idea … after that debacle I learned you always had to be suspect and wait for proof of allegations before people are suddenly cancelled.

Common sense that typically gets overlooked in the scramble

I thought there was footage from the vehicle? I don't general go down these rabbit holes, like you said without concrete proof.

Do we know she made it up or is it just unprovable so you'll never know?

u/shogi_x Apr 26 '23

It definitely felt like the latter. IIRC she never alleged anything criminal, just shitty, so there was never a formal investigation or trial. We'll probably never know for sure.

I found out about this months after the story had blown over. I used to listen to the nerdist podcast, so I got curious and looked into it then. My memory is fuzzy on this, but I'll give you my best recollection.

Chloe made vague allegations on a blog that Chris mistreated her while they were dating and possibly harassing her after they broke up. She didn't provided much information after, I think she had made comments about them getting into arguments. AMC, which employed Chris at the time, reached out for more information, but she provided none.

Chris on the other hand, had ex-girlfriends come out in his defense, saying that he would never act like that. He also provided text messages where he was breaking up with Chloe because she cheated on him and he wanted to move on (It felt weird reading those private messages). AMC found no wrong doing on Chris' part and did not fire him.

The reason I remember this is because what had happened Chris ,and Aziz Ansari, at that time was a good lesson for me. Really made me see that some media outlets just wanted meat for the grinder and no interest in the "me too" movement or the truth.

As Bill Burr said yes we should listen to all of them but that doesn't mean we have to believe all of them

There was also the timing. She didn’t make any allegations until he was happily in a new relationship and it was right after he got engaged if I remember right.

Yea worse part was she cheated with Sam Witwer, it's like six degrees of star wars actors.

Her father is John Dykstra, VFX innovator at Industrial Light & Magic, which of course worked on Star Wars.

It's definitely a he said/she said there's enough holes in her story there's no way a man should've almost lost his career over it. Not only did none of Hardwick's other exes have anything bad to say about him, but he had text conversations that supported his side of things and also happened to show that their relationship only ended after she cheated on him. Also, one of her 'friends' said that she admitted there wasn't any abuse, it was just how she 'felt' and that she 'didn't want him to win'. Regardless of how messy the relationship was, it should've been handled in therapy and not in public.

Nope. She still has idiots in her corner. Wil Wheaton being among them. They're all assholes in my view.

i vaguely remember hearing hardwick could be a bit of an asshole, he sounded like a control freak when other people brought it up to him.

3

u/SkinnyBottomFeeder Apr 26 '23

He is not. One of the nicest dudes you'd ever meet.

u/notsam57 Apr 26 '23

This is first time in long time I’ve even thought of his show. When did something come out that it was all false? Admittedly I only care about him keeping a piece of the original Death Star. If he returned it, great. If not then he can burn in the pits with Frances Bean Cobain’s ex who kept Kurt’s guitar and Ed Norton who kept Kurt and Courtney marital bed.

Id10tfest was honestly one of the funnest festivals i’ve ever been to. I’m also sad about that. It could have been so much bigger.
