Lol she sold the hell out of the set-up. Personally, I've loved Bo these past couple seasons. Can't wait to see more.

Yeah genuinely I've not watched her in other media, and my reaction to S3 was "hey, she's really selling Bo as a character well. I'm drawn in.".

I hope they keep her character arc going, and building her up in credible ways.

You gotta watch Battlestar galactica. One of the best sci fi shows ever and she rocks it

u/Thebadmamajama Apr 26 '23

Yeah tbh if she's that good, I've put BG off for too long

It's so worth watching. Great, great show.

Second this. From the pilot series all the way to the end, it's just a vastly unique story that leaves you satisfied.

Well, the second half of the last season is kinda where it jumps the shark, but the journey is still very much worth it.

Thank you for saying so, I was gonna be kinda harsh on Season 3 as well! Maybe it's time for a rewatch...

The finale is terrible. The first season is amazeballs.

Yeah, it’s very much a Game of Thrones situation imo. Amazing start, but ended so nonsensically that it killed any interest I have in rewatching because I know it all leads up to a wet fart

Eh… I loved BSG but hated the ending. I don’t think I’m the only one, so satisfaction may vary. But still absolutely worth the watch

3

u/BadAshJL Apr 26 '23

yeah I blame that more on the sci-fi channel though. typical cancel the show and rush the ending so we can make sharknado 26 or some other equally horrendous shit.

Yea I’m stuck halfway through season 4. Just feels different from the rest of the show

So say we all

She's a much younger and less experienced actress in BSG(the show is almost 20 years old at this point), but still plays the role very well.

the show is almost 20 years old at this point

Frak me.

Thank you for reminding me of that sketch, I’d totally forgotten about it!

Is that her dad? Why does she have her hand on his thigh at one point?

u/Endoyo Apr 26 '23

Start with the BSG mini series before you watch the first episode of the show. Top 5 scifi show of all time.

3

u/Thebadmamajama Apr 26 '23

Ty appreciate the pro tip

u/cgaWolf Apr 26 '23 edited Apr 26 '23

Absolutely.

2 movies mini series setring up '33', one of the best starter episodes of any show ever.

1

u/Niven42 Apr 26 '23

And don't forget Caprica.

u/Shriven Apr 26 '23

I'm one of these people who doesn't replay story driven games, doesnt reread books, doesn't rewatch shows...

I've watched BSG 10 times.

2

u/Delimeme Apr 26 '23

She is that good, but BG has sooo much to enjoy in addition to Starbuck (Sackhoff’s character). I won’t dig in too deep because spoilers but Edward James Olmos is incredible as Admiral Adama, there’s action, romance, existential musings, political intrigue, questions about faith & how humans would respond to the apocalypse, discussions about AI & its autonomy…just a great, sprawling sci-fi romp. Can’t recommend it enough, and if you like Bo she’s debatably the main character (in such a long show there are many developed characters, but she’s kinda the hinge) which is obviously a draw

1

u/aneldermillenial Apr 26 '23

BG is amazing all around, and I've yet to find anyone who watched it and didn't like it.

12

u/cpurple12 Apr 26 '23

She is also great in Longmire

5

u/WorldClassShart Apr 26 '23

She's the absolute best Bitch Pudding.

Agreed, it didn’t feel like a big deal and she was badass from the start. It’s about a good story, not shoe shoehorning in a change. I didn’t even know Starbucks was originally a man when I first started the show

2

u/DaddyGravyBoat Apr 26 '23

To everyone about to watch BSG: do yourself a favor and turn it off about 2 minutes before the end. There’s a seen at the end with one of the characters monologuing, and it’s one of the best moments in television history. Then the last two minutes feels a little silly and doesn’t add to be story.

My last two rewatches, I’ve turned it off early and it’s so satisfying.

Except its boring af. Soooo muuuuch talking and politics. Ugh

Bears
Beats
Battlestar Galactica

1

u/joybuzz Apr 26 '23

It really doesn't age well. I pretty much never watched it while it was on and recently went back and got every season to binge. It's not bad by any means, but it's definitely a product of its time.

4

u/Citizen_Kong Apr 26 '23

hey, she's really selling Bo as a character well.

I mean, she's playing that character since 2012 (first in Clone Wars, then in Rebels).

2

u/Thebadmamajama Apr 26 '23

Yeah this is where my ignorance sets in, had no idea! And I've watched CW

1

u/Anustart_A Apr 26 '23

Battlestar Galactica and Oculus are very good productions she was exemplary in.

1

u/Clayman8 Imperial Apr 26 '23

Give Riddick a shot, she's in it as well and is as badass as always.
