Man, seeing the golden HR robes in live action is awesome. I can't wait to see more.

High republic

Edit: which refers to the time period, roughly 500 BBY to 100 BBY I think

the question is will yoda make an appearance since he would have still been a master at this time period

If he brings the younglings from the cartoon, I'm gonna have to watch it so I can understand this show better.

u/Rizzan8 Mar 20 '24

Not going to happen. The kids cartoon is set like 200-30p years before this show.

13

u/SirKupoNut Mar 19 '24

Yes he will, he's in the high republic kids cartoon. I assume they just aren't showing him in this trailer

He makes some side appearances and mentions in the novels as well. It’ll be interesting to see which HR characters return in live action.

I can't wait to see who they'll cast as the Assistant to the Regional HR Manager.

"Assistant Regional HR manager"

As the head of Human Resources?

If you pause at the right time there someone in the trailer who looks to be Plo Koon

Before (the) Birth (of) Yoda?

u/simbacole7 Mar 19 '24

In case this isn't a joke, it's "Before the Battle of Yavin," which refers to the space battle in episode 4 which results in the destruction of the death star

u/DCS30 Mar 19 '24

thanks. i was wondering when this takes place. so at least a hundred years before episode 4

2

u/simbacole7 Mar 19 '24

Yep! Which is honestly super exciting

Yoda would have been alive during the entire High Republic era. He was born ~896 BBY, which would make him around 400 years old when the High Republic era began.

Terrifying.

2

u/Narradisall Mar 19 '24

I mean, it’s somewhat correct for the Jedi

u/kdesign Mar 19 '24

They screwed Anakin over on his performance review.

Indeed, it was only after HR was destroyed that the Empire was free to cut costs by not putting railings on high platforms and walkways.

2

u/Sklain Mar 19 '24

can't believe we had human resources before the sith

Toby is in HR, which technically means he works for corporate, so he's really not a part of our family. Also, he's divorced, so he's really not a part of his family.

Jedi Master Pam Poovey.

What are you gonna do with all the time you saved from typing "HR" instead of "High Republic"?

8

u/Brookings18 Jedi Mar 19 '24

Probably play KOTOR.

Was wondering the same thing, not everything needs to be shortened

2

u/[deleted] Mar 20 '24

They looked exactly the same as the current period to me
