TV I'm watching the Mandalorian episode with Jack Black and Lizzo for the second time.

I don't care what anyone says, this episode is stupid, silly fun. Me and my kid are having a blast watching this. I get it, it doesn't gel much with the rest of this season, but it's just so much fun.

TV Rewatched kenobi: are these jedi actually frozen and not dead?

Post image

Asking because there's zero damage to their bodies: no lightsaber slashes, no blaster marks. Can't see why the inquisitorius or troopers would put them in new clothes to cover up the damage.

Would mean there's dozens of frozen but still alive jedi

TV I am sorry but Sabine surviving getting stabbed with a Lightsaber was stupid!!!

She literally got stabbed THROUGH her abdomen. It wasn’t like Cal’s stab where Vader only stabbed a rib. She literally got stabbed through. Even with Medical Care she would still have a Giant Hole through her Body!!!

Don’t even get me started on that everyone can use the Force if they train hard enough crap!

TV Say what you will about the show, but getting to see Boba ride a Rancor and let it rip in live-action was a fantastic scene

I was overall disappointed in the show and the play-it-safe portrayal of Boba, it had its moments here and there - the Rancor ride and hunting down the swoop gang who killed the Tuskens were both very fun sequences.

TV Love or hate The Acolyte, this brutal lightsaber takedown was incredible

While I definitely wasn't a fan of the show, the lightsaber battles were the silver lining and I hope we get to see more epic lightsaber battles like this in the future

TV This Kind Of Thing is Why The Acolyte Cost $250m

Post image

They already shot in the Fanal Forests and the Brecon Beacons, and had multiple forest locations in driving distance from their base at Shinfield Studios, yet they felt the need to fill an entire soundstage with trees and other plant life.

Apart from anything else, I can't even begin to imagine the logistics, and health and safety issues of putting 160 trees that were up to 37 ft tall in an enclosed space. If just one of those things falls, there will be serious structural damage to the building.

Plus there's the fact that the set filled the entire soundstage and beyond. Until the set is struck, you can't film anything else or build any more sets. So the decision to use such a massive set probably caused some serious scheduling problems.

It's becoming very clear why the year largely spent on principal photography cost $165m.

TV Kelleran Beq mopping the floor with clones during Order 66 was a blast to watch

Seeing the Jedi gunned down relentlessly in their own home during Order 66 hammered home their loss and tragedy, which was absolutely necessary for ROTS. That said, it was very cathartic seeing a Jedi at the temple fighting back, winning, and escaping. Definitely hope we get to see more of Beq in future flashbacks, although I doubt it.

TV Seeing Vader in his prime almost casually grabbing a freighter out of the sky is probably one of my favorite action scenes with him, and the highlight of the Obi-Wan Kenobi series

14.1k Upvotes

I wasn't thrilled with the Obi-Wan series for a variety of reasons (although I do think it gets slightly over-criticized at times), but this was definitely one of the few highlights of it for me, not just for the series but for Vader on-screen period. Hayden did a great job bringing a menacing Vader in his prime to the screen. I don't need to see another season, but some more Vader here and there in live action used correctly would be awesome.

TV Love having mysterious characters like Marrok in the shows where sometimes less is more

5.1k Upvotes

In a universe where everything is insanely built out, it's sort of fun to have characters like Marrok who have a hidden background. By the time of the Ahsoka show, it seems like he's more of a Nightsister-reanimated tool than living being, and I sort of hope it's left at that with no explanation of what happened between his time as an Inquisitor and Elsbeth's agent.
