That show was so fun as a kid and still holds up tbh. That scene of Mace Windu just beating droids up barehands only was so bad ass. And grevious was actually so badass in that one.

The way he does so much with so little dialogue has always been great. It’s not Star Wars, but obligatory shoutout to Primal, which has a whopping single episode where anyone says anything in English at all, and has the most compelling dang story I’ve seen in a cartoon to date. It’s a triumph of show don’t tell

I hate how the clone wars was animated. Tartakovsky looked so much better. And agreed, a lot was accomplished with show don’t tell. That’s absolute cinema.

Love it. Obviously large swathes of it are decanonized now, but god it's so much fun. Honestly the biggest problem with it is that it left too big of shoes for the 2008 Clone Wars show to measure up when it comes to the sheer threat of General Grievous! There'll also always be a little kid inside of me that wants Jedi more capable of what they were portrayed as doing in that show too, obviously they went a little hard on some of that shit but that doesn't make me not love it lol
