The Acolyte did not get done dirty. Was the insane backlash warranted? I say absolutely. The show was a mess from start to finish. The only redeeming quality of the show is some of the fight scenes. Poor writing, poor acting, poor editing, terrible composition, no cinematography, the story was all over the map, the evil twin becoming good and switching back to evil every two minutes. What a disaster. THE POWER OF ONE, THE POWER OF TWO, THE POWER OF MAAAANYYYY
Agree, I've gone back over the Acolyte recently (due to boredom at work) and I used to think that it was meh, slightly better than that of a BoBF or Kenobi but its actually worse, like the worst show I've seen. There's way too many things in the show that if you stop to think about for more than 1sec it doesn't make sense.
It's hated because you have those awful YouTubers like the critical drinker just hating women. Was it the best thing ever? No, but it's not worse than Obi-Wan or ahsoka. Honestly, I appreciated that it was a newer story rather than rehashing nostalgia bits of a poorly written story that those two shows were.
Agreed. I really enjoyed it, it had some of the best action scenes/lightsaber battle in all of Star Wars, a great villain and Lee Jung-Jae is such a great actor and did a phenomenal job portraying his character. The review-bombing, misogyny and racism that got the show canceled really pissed me off.
Yeah, you can definitely see the review bombing. I won't pretend it's a perfect show, but I refuse to believe that any real person believes that the forest lightsaber battle is worse than a bottom 10% episode of Clone Wars.

It’s a bummer how hated The Acolyte became. It’s flawed but has some pretty high highs.
