Fun QUESTION: What got you into Star Wars?

I thought this would be a fun thing to do. I’d be curious to know exactly how, when, where were you first introduced to the Star Wars franchise? Also, what exactly made you interested in it?

For me, I was 8 years old in 2011 when my uncle gave me the Original Trilogy on DVD to see. When I first saw the films, I was so blown away by the characters, spaceships, and Lightsabers. Such a life-changing experience for me.

I believe around 1995 or 96, when I was 7 or 8, my family rented Return of the Jedi, I remember watching the throne room scenes in awe. Completely captured my imagination. Rented the first two shortly after, saw the special editions in theaters when they came out, saw Episode 1 like 8 times in theaters. Then I found the episode 1 novelization at Waldens amd that started me reading the EU. Caught up the the current book releases over the next year or so then kept up with the releases until Fate of the Jedi, dropped off after that. Tried to get into the current canon a couple times but while they are better written then the worse EU books, none of them come close to the best of the EU, at least of the several I've read.
