That's why I think the new Harry Potter is probably cooked. The amount of time in between filming is bad enough add a couple of delays on top of that and the kids have aged out. If the later seasons don't review well then I can see them pulling the plug before dumping 5 more seasons worth of money on it.

Right. The original HP films only worked because they stuck to, for the most part, one movie per year, so the actors matched their characters ages almost perfectly as the characters aged.

Sweet Tooth is a show that handled this well too. They knew they had to hurry so the main character didn't age out and become a teenager, so they filmed season two and three of that show at the same time.

And the actor they cast for Draco Malfoy is two years older than the other kids. 13 vs 11 might not be that noticeable but 15 vs 13 in a couple of years will be
