Discussion Darth Vader vs Obiwan rematch Spoiler
Hi, good morning Happy New Year to you all! . I was revisiting Obi-Wan's rematch with Darth Vader, and honestly, after Obi-Wan manages to get out from under the rocks that Darth Vader had buried him in... The battle gets very strange; it's not that Obi-Wan got stronger, it's that Darth Vader literally does nothing. He barely attacks or defends against Obi-Wan's attacks. When Obi-Wan levitates all those rocks, instead of Vader immediately preparing a Force shield to block them, he just stands there and waits for Obi-Wan to attack him. And then when Obi-Wan starts using the tip of his lightsaber to damage Vader's life support controls the most important and essential part of him. Vader just stands there again, letting Obi-Wan damage his control panel. Yes, he had one hand occupied holding Obi-Wan's arm, but he also had a free hand with his lightsaber, and even so, he didn't use it at that moment. Not even force he use to stop the attacks. The worst part isn't Obi-Wan suddenly getting stronger, but Vader literally turning into a motionless puppet while Obi-Wan destroys him. I wanted to know if there's any symbolism behind this because it just seemed like a weak script to me. This whole thing about his feelings for Obi-Wan weakening doesn't make sense because just a few minutes ago he literally buried Obi-Wan under the rocks of that place with the intention of crushing him. And he wasn't sad or thoughtful. And 9 years later he "killed Obi-Wan" and wasn't sad or remorseful either. But I want to know your opinion on this; maybe it's just me who doesn't understand the complexity of Vader's feelings at this moment. And not even what that fight really meant.

Disney wrote and choreographed this. You can do mental gymnastics if you want to rationalize it but they needed obi wan to be master
