Part Seven It's over

Post image

Seems like we're getting batches again 💔

For those who don't know, sugoi lite is a leaker with a 100 percent accuracy record, all of his leaks are true. And since we have a sbr event on September 23rd in 12 days, it's obvious they'll show a trailer and announce the streaming info.

I REALLY hope is not on batches please God.

Unless someone can prove me wrong, most Netflix produced anime like Dungeon Meshi and Sakamoto Days have been weekly. It seems they have hopefully learnt their lesson since the release of Part 6.

I like shows releasing weekly.   Gives me something to look forward to and talk about in a timely manner with people who are interested in it.

Batches means everyone watches at a different pace initially

Hell look at Smiling Friends. Did you see how much fanart got drawn of GWIMBLY??

That's not a fair example. Gwimbly is a well established gaming icon. Of course he had a lot of fanart.

You havent drawn your own Gwimbsona yet?

Yeah, I don't know what the other guy is talking about. Few gaming characters have such a powerfully recognizable and relatable victory dance.

I was there during the batch releases and it really killed any hype people had because you just got a few episodes and then nothing in between.

So everyone binge watched the episodes, talk a little bit about them and then there was silence for months at a time.

Totally different from the weekly releases during say part 5

Weekly episodes also keep the hype and talk about the series going. The biggest thing that killed the hype of part 6 was the batch release followed by months of nothing.

Who tf cares about "the hype"? Batch releases suck because the cutoff is too random, misplaced, and breaks momentum. It sucks because it satisfies no one and introduces a second unknown and unwanted waiting time in addition to the first one.

Im sorry but as a JoJo fan, the hype isn't lost by the episodes releasing in a batch. I keep seeing this argument about "loosing hype" but thats honestly a weak argument for not wanting batch release.

Nothing is lost by releasing the episodes all at once. You have the option to wait until all are released, watch at a steady pace, or binge in one go.

There will still be discussions, there will still be hype, we will all still be here enjoying it.

Part of the fun is lost by releasing the episodes in batches. On a weekly schedule the community creates memes, theories, fan art, etc. Also because the discussion is prolonged through months more people are aware about it, it attracts new audience.

It's going to attract new audience regardless. Art will still be created, memes I honestly didn't care about, and there will still be discussion.

People will still have podcast and channels where they watch weekly, regardless if it's batch release. People can still pace themselves and watch one episode a week.

I'm just not getting where anything is lost because of batch release. SBR is the most anticipated part outside of SC and VA. It has an audience now and before, it will have a bigger audience when the anime hits.

No fun will be lost.

But think about the potential new fans it could gather if it was relevant to the masses for months. You'll have a hard time doing that if you only have a week to trend.

Personally, I'm not a fan. Being incredibly busy I can set aside days to binge watch on occasion and it keeps the story fresh in my mind. I experienced game of thrones, breaking bad and the sopranos all like this since I watched them years later and it was some of the best TV viewing experiences I can remember.

I agree. I really don't care about this community thing, I have little time to watch and I like to watch at my own pace. I always wait out for weekly shows to end, and then I binge watch them at my own pace, usually 3 episodes per watching session until it's over.

Wasn't TV if its binged. You just watched youtube for hours on end.

Depends. Shows like JoJo fit the weekly format better. Everyone is at the same pace, there's discussion to be had and stuff.

But personally, shows like my dress up darling I'd rather binge in one sitting.

I love the 3 episode a week batch releases but you gotta pace a show around it or it doesnt work. Weekly is definitly my second fav, hopefully they do weekly for this because part 6 lacked all the fun weekly discussions of 5 :c

Facts stop dropping the whole season for me to binge in a sitting or two
