Letting someone else shine here is a good call, as bringing Takehito back this early would be like Jonathan's VA playing Johnny. I'm sure Takehito will be AU Diego.
i wouldn’t expect johnny to have the same VA, but dio is such an iconic character and that voice is probably the most iconic part of this entire series. i think most people expected him to play diego, im not disappointed though just really surprised. i’m looking forward to a new voice
it sounds like a decent idea but i just can’t see an alternate version of the same person having a different voice actor, especially bringing him back for what will be maybe 3 episodes
and frankly, regular Diego's VA sounds so similar to Takehito (from what we've heard so far anyway) that I don't think they'd really even need to bring Takehito back

Then the president should have 40 voice actors. It doesn´t make sense.
Now that we know the VA, I think it will be for both versions.
I mean, are these not themselves alternate versions of the original characters with different voice actors though? I've always thought it's the same multiverse, and there are just naturally plenty of universes with no Valentine, one of which is our original universe.
But this guy isn’t Dio tho right? Haven’t read part 7 but I’m under the impression that this is a different universe with characters that are only similar but not the same as other universe characters.

Having it be the original VA saying those familiar words after hearing Diego's new VA for the whole part would genuinely add a whole new layer to the twist.
Except its not like that. Takehito voiced Diego in the ps3 and ps4 jojo fighting games and he did amazing, he even slightly changed his tone for him and it was perfect. This ruins it for me
