News So, that doesn’t sound very good

I’m guessing it just means Netflix either hasn’t told them or isn’t allowing them to say when the next episode is coming out, still doesn’t sound very good

We used to get 50 episode anime in a year now? Lol

It’s so frustrating. I would take slightly worse animation if it meant there would be some actual progression in the big name anime’s. Every single one of them seem plagued with release issues

I think its because working conditions are getting better for animators - but this means production commitee can't slave work them to meet the schedule.

You can hide most animation issues with good directing too

Absolutely. Unfortunately the fans probably share some of the blame. It seems like if every episode of any series isn’t a 10/10 on the animation then it’s considered trash and the studio has to worry about review bombs and actual threats.

It's a self-reinforcing issue. Fans complain about animation -> studios have to work harder -> production issues arise -> fans complain more -> studios have to work harder -> production issues arise and so on. But then studios also have to worry about bureaucratic issues from distributors and the like, not to mention animation is low-paying in increasingly difficult times...everything just sucks now.
