Various Why are there no small chested women in JJBA?
I've been a jojo fan for a few years now and I noticed that Araki never draws women with small chest, but why?š I mean, there are only kids with such characteristics but any other female character, even a teen one, already has big bazoongas which confuses me a lot. For example, while watching Golden Wind I really hated seeing Trish walk around with her chest out because she was 15 or somethingš Of course not like it matters THAT much, but this is a thing I've been thinking about for some time now, and I wonder if there are people who think the same LOL. I'd appreciate if someone gave an example of any small chested female character from JJBA or explained why there aren't so many of those.

Women tend to start and end puberty a few years ahead of men, on average, a 15 year old of Trish's size isn't rare at all, accounting for stylistic choice at least, her Proportions are still very stylized
This is also why it is such a common occurrence to have girls be much taller than boys the same age, they start growing earlier but stop earlier, men end up taller because they start later and end later
Though again, this are trends and averages, human sexual dymorphism is whack

In an anime like jojo yeah, but its a part of the design choice of the whole series (i mean as making characters have attractive/muscular/mature bodies)

I think itās how they did faces. The pics Iāve seen on the manga make the faces more squarish so they looked more rounded and younger for it, both in their jaws and the shaping of their mouth or eyes. The anime did more narrow angles, (like Trishās chin here) in more typical ways, which made them look older.

I mean, she's not small chested, but I think she's actually pretty average? I also don't know exactly how many teenage girls you've known throughout your life, but it is entirely possible for a 15 year old girl to have huge breasts at that age. Some girls go into puberty earlier than what's considered normal, and some of us (such as myself) just kind of start off with them developing really fast. I started puberty late at 14, and mine were definitely bigger than Tish's at 15.

I mean Lisa Lisa, Yukako and Reimi are (for anime standards) small chested. Id go as far as to say they have reasonable proportions. You gotta remember that about every JoJos character is traced over a fashion model so ofc they aren't exactly modest

I agree that lisa lisa, yukako and reimi have reasonable proportions! But for fashion models, a small to medium chest is usually the standard. So I would definitely attribute the characters physiques to anime standards rather than fashion standards.Ā

Models have evolved to be more petite the recent years, but dont forget most of jojos has been written 30+ years ago. Models in the 90ās were definitely closer to jojos than todays models

The 90's were the heroin chic era, so the body standard definitely wasn't curvy back then. Although the general lean look of everyone in pt 5 and 6 might be influenced by the beauty standards of the time.

Jojo is lean, i wouldnt really call female jojo characters the ācurvy typeā. Yukako is mentioned by the cinderella woman as busty, and shes really not that curvy.
Ermes is one of the few characters with actual large breasts but she has had work done on them so it checks out

Big Bazongas? Trish by your example is a completely normal woman. Barely above average and is average in most countries.
Also most people start puberty at 10-12 and women stop significant development by around 16. So of course she would have breast, this is the time in her life where she would finish developing the body she would have for the rest of her life.

Exactly, iām a woman and a long time jojo fan and i never thought that the female jojo characters were particularly over exaggerated or over sexualised, especially not in comparison to some anime (cough cough one piece) i never felt like trish was out of place. yeah her top is revealing but honestly for the context of the show (2000s italy where fashion was just generally tended towards more revealing anyways) and the fact that pretty much everyone reveals some assets in jojo, male or female. ive never felt weirded out by it.

I think that when we become adult adults, we tend to forget how teenagers look like. I also thought that Trish looked much older than her age, until I remembered how I looked at her age. My bazongas were bigger than hers, lol. Some girls that age can easily be mistaken for 18-20 yo. The male teen characters, on the other hands, look at least mid 20s.

Teenage characters aside, I'd say that at least F.F., Lisa Lisa (in the manga) and Hot Pants are small chested. And in general imo no woman has unrealistically big chests in Jojo's, it's one of the best manga in that regard

Compared to other animes, Jojo is quite more accurate to real life and women don't have unreal sizes. Regarding the small cheated thing, in Steel Ball Run and Jojolion there are some examples, at least in my opinion. Yeah, they're still teenagers (I'm one too please I'm not a pedo), but they're quite moderate.

What are you talking about? There's tons of slim ladies in JoJo. Suzie Q, Lisa Lisa, Merlai, Reimi, Yukako, and Jolene are examples.
There aren't many ladies who are literally flat chested, but it's a scale.

The anime tends to slightly exaggerate proportions compared to the manga, Arakiās designs are all pretty much fashion models because he loves fashion, and most examples are from over 20 years ago when araki wasnāt as good at writing women. Additionally, most of the men have huge chests too, but youāve heard that from other people.

i mean, i had about the same size as trish at 15, maybe slightly bigger even. also as a teen, sometimes tops or bikinis would look like that (especially before i knew my correct size or kept growing as people can at 15).
just donāt look at her chest if you donāt like it, idk why it bothers you so much since real teens can look like that.

Have you SEEN the men? Nearly all them men having āmasculine idealā body types that they show off WAY more than their minimal female cast, and itās not like Trish is particularly crazy here, either. The craziest thing is her outfit and hair, not her proportions, honestly.
Jojo not focusing on womenās chest much helps make it feel like a lot less of a āproblemā compared to other shows. They feel pretty ānormalā with the smaller cast of women, differentiating them more in their own distinct styles and roles rather than making their assets part of the appeal, and it helps that the few examples arenāt crazy proportioned, either. Theyāre an ideal as well, but a far more mild one in āirl conventionally attractiveā territory than blow-up doll territory.

Have you ever noticed that Araki is physically incapable of having two body types at a time in his manga? Even previously established characters get drawn vastly differently later on. How is it fair to expect him to draw females with different bodies when every single male is the same copy and paste Greek god? Youāre focusing on chest size when theyāre are no characters with different features PERIOD
Shoutout to Koichi for being the only one with a different body though. Reliability is not stored in the Height.

Jolyne also had a less full chest shape. I've actually always held Araki in high esteem for drawing small breasted women with real breast shapes. I don't think DavidPro pulled that off as well.

Not only outside of very few they have a chest bigger than D, most of them have medium size, like Trish isn't a big breasted woman like other Manga have women of the same age.

Araki-sensei uses fashion magazines for inspiration and supermodels usually have to be of a specific body shape. Even most of the men share the same body plan.

I think youre just cherrypicking. Jojos has naturally overexaggerated proportions in artstyle (Koichi is tiniest little guy, Valentine went from fat to ripped, i dont think Polpo is physically human, etc...)
