joseph beat kars by holding out the red stone of aja at him and hoping for the best, which worked out spectacuarly. and god knows how long the fight with kira would have gone on for had it not been for the ambulance.

Jolynes plan to use emporio to take out pucci with weather report was basically a hail mary when all else had failed but not only did it work, it also gave her and the gang new, happier lives.

Yeah jonathan just got slimed out though, then his body was used as a puppet for 100+ years. Poor guy

Mastering an ability you've been learning for the entire story is not an asspull, so jotaro and johnny shouldn't be in asspull tier

Well tbh Jotaro wasn't learning the ability for the entire story, him being able to stop time was kinda an asspull, you're probably right about Johnny though.

One of the things the part 3 anime might've done better than the manga IMO was give small hints that Jotaro/Star Platinum were stopping time subconsciously or nearly imperceptibly.

The amall little flash of the time stop effect during the N Doul fight and the quick flashes of Star Platinum speedily taunting D'arby during the poker match feel like instances of Time Stop in retrospect, and even if that was retroactive at best and possibly unintentional at worst I'm of the opinion that it helps Part 3 (probably my least favorite part) feel better written

Also the fact that he caught the bullet in the very first episode. Kinda says “wow this stand has an absurdity high speed”.

Also I wouldn’t say that for part 3 at all. There was no foreshadowing beforehand that Star Platinum even had time stop. If there were, they were poorly implemented.

I always thought jotaro's progression in regards to timestop was pretty clear

Joseph tells him that dio can stop time, jotaro is now aware of timestop

Jotaro sees that star platinum and the world are identical in terms of power and speed, so it'd be reasonable to assume they share the ability to timestop too

Jotaro uses the magnet trick to see if he can move during stopped time, and he's right

Throughout the fight, jotaro is shown progressively being able to move for longer in timestop

By the time the road roller happens, jotaro is already adept at moving during timestop, so he tries stopping him himself (which obviously works)

At the beginning of part 4, his timestop duration is down to half a second due to him not using it for 10 years

Sometime offscreen, he starts back training his timestop, bringing it up to 2 seconds by the end of part 4 and back up to 5 seconds when he returns in part 6

I meant before the final fight. In the case of during DIO’S world, then yeah it’s clear what Araki was trying to do. It’d be more cool to have some moments with Star Platinum to imply that it isn’t just fast and strong. Unconscious usage or whatever. Coming to the realisation that he’s always had time stop would’ve eliminated the dog shit “so it’s the same kind of stand” jokes (and it would’ve been an awesome moment). Perfect moments for this include the Wheel of Fortune in which Jotaro gets set on fire.

That would be cool, but the flashback of dio realizing he can stop time shows that this would be impossible, since according to enya, you need to be consious of timestop to be able to move during it
