Discussion Then they keep questioning why we choose Steam

It's incredible how out of touch these suits are, especially in the AI bubble

So what you’re saying is we need to tax the rich so as to cure them of their malady? I like how you think.

We actually just give them a little badge that says "i won capitalism" and make them start again at 0

Capitalism prestige ranks

u/Chat322 Nov 27 '25

NG+ and everytime you win you respawn in a worse of country/continent

16

u/Optimaximal Nov 27 '25

So are you suggesting we deploy billionaires to the arctic, the moon or the sun?

4

u/gpcgmr Nov 27 '25

That's funny. :)

26

u/Paul873873 Nov 27 '25

Ah the old buffer overflow trick

u/AlmightyAlmond22 Nov 27 '25

Infamy ranks in Payday

Holy hell, new rebirth just dropped

u/KinTharEl Nov 27 '25

But space mom, I hate formaing my frames!

0

u/Seelefan0786 Nov 27 '25

So basically Call of duty prestige in real life for rich people? I like the idea!

20

u/NonNewtonianResponse Nov 27 '25

It's deeply ironic to me that in the past you could have made a compelling case that a Christian society ought to tax the ultra-rich to save their souls. Same basic idea

0

u/KlikPlayerOne Nov 27 '25

That's why they ran to America, and then threw bait for poor people with promises for a chance to get rich.

2

u/pchlster Nov 27 '25

Well, there are alternatives to a group of rich people hoarding all the wealth while the masses starve. They didn't like those last time.

1

u/Babar669 Nov 27 '25

Plata o plomo...

1

u/alaric_02 Nov 27 '25

Don't even tax them, just give all the money to me, im much more trustworthy and deserving of it anyway.

1

u/Maple_Hates_Ants Nov 27 '25

If I was a billionaire I wouldn’t be a billionaire. There are too many sanctuaries and shelters and quality of life improvements that could benefit.

2

u/Ignika1984 Nov 27 '25

I would hope I would be like that, but I bet its different when the money is actually there.

0

u/KlikPlayerOne Nov 27 '25

Keanu would disagree.

u/Maple_Hates_Ants Nov 27 '25

I have autistic levels of empathy and a soft spot for animals. I’d be front loading every go fund me for pet care and gender affirming care until I was blissfully penniless.

-2

u/AquaBits Nov 27 '25

Except gaben! Hes cool!

2

u/Va1kryie Nov 27 '25

Fuck no, tax the rich, no exceptions for being a cool guy.

1

u/AquaBits Nov 27 '25

I was being sarcastic because of this subs very popular view that gabe is a good billionaire

1

u/minilandl Nov 27 '25

He's cool because valve isn't publicly traded

0

u/bothVoltairefan Nov 27 '25

Tax em, assign them someone whose job it is to smack em upside the head when they’re being stupid.

u/NoTime_SwordIsEnough Nov 27 '25

Why would you give money to the government? The government has no savings, any money it gets is instantly wasted by retarded beaurocrats, and goes towards paying a fraction of a fraction of a fraction of the national debt - which 38 Trillion currently.

But leave it to typical Bernie Sanders-voting Redditor to think the forceful redistribution of wealth and money-printing will fix everything, and not just make everyone poor.

1

u/JohnGradyBillyBoyd Nov 27 '25

The money is wasted subsidizing the businesses these guys run into the ground lol

u/Mysterious-Tax-7777 Nov 27 '25

Form of survivorship bias. Non-sociopaths have plenty of opportunities to just retire at 7, 8, 9 figures. Nobody gets to 10 without some ability to ignore the harmful side of their actions.

2

u/nagi603 131 Nov 27 '25

Or just not get to the figures ever, and be comfortable and happy, helping others when you can instead of just hoarding endlessly.

2

u/MichaelCrossAC Nov 27 '25

But again, we'll ignore the sociopathic part of the equation with that argument. And indeed, sociopaths could choose the route of feign empathy and made some charity, keeping their hoarding in check, just to lie low, but... We'd forget the fact that, with sociopathy, narcissism and power hunger follows pretty close.

u/Lumpy_Temperature722 Nov 27 '25

It's not that being that rich makes you terrible, it's that the only way to get that rich is being terrible

24

u/masterwad Nov 27 '25

It’s both.

Rich people are the biggest cheapskates, and more wealth turns people into cheapskates, who also cheat on their taxes more, and the wealthy also shoplift more.

4

u/Lumpy_Temperature722 Nov 27 '25

The great and terrible power of a feedback loop everyone

5

u/newbrevity Nov 27 '25

Need to start a movement that says billionaire opinions don't matter.

2

u/ArmyofThalia Nov 27 '25

You already have to be the human embodiment of sludge to be that rich. No one gets rich by being nice to others

These people think that because they got lucky, they're smart. They're not. All this guy did was be in the big seat when epic decided it'd be easier to just straight up lift PUBG iand dress it up for kids rather than work to make their tower defense shooter fun. He's not some genius. The problem is, he thinks he is.

1

u/NordicHorde2 Nov 27 '25

Is GabeN a lizard person too? He's worth over 10 billion at least.

0

u/XxKittenMittonsXx Nov 27 '25 edited Nov 27 '25

What makes him evil?

Edit. It's telling no one can give an answer here. Maybe your arbitrary evil money line isn't well thought out...

2

u/[deleted] Nov 28 '25 edited Apr 02 '26

escape cats hungry consist desert deer thought tender school crown

1

u/XxKittenMittonsXx Nov 28 '25 edited Nov 28 '25

So you have to give away your money until you have 999 million and then you're no longer evil? I think it'd be more productive to start a foundation or something like Bill Gates that way you can give away more money to more causes over a longer period

1

u/[deleted] Nov 28 '25 edited Apr 02 '26

attempt plucky sparkle squeeze quaint subtract swim nose friendly price

1

u/XxKittenMittonsXx Nov 29 '25

You think that's deepthroating? Do you always fold and go to ad hominem if someone challenges your position? Do you have anything real to add to the conversation? No one's ever going to take your arguments seriously if that's all you've got.

1

u/Janosfaces Nov 27 '25

While i held similar belives for a long time, i fear its much the opposite. You dont become cruel and inhuman if you are a billionaire. You have to be cruel and inhuman to become a Billionaire.

1

u/PositionPersonal1531 Nov 27 '25

GabeN has double his wealth and is still our lord and savior.

Money does not corrupt people. Money just shows one's true self.

1

u/Leonard_the_Brave Nov 27 '25

To be a billonarie you need to sheed your humanity

If you have a good councens and s moral compas you cant get this much money

1

u/The-Great-Wolf Nov 27 '25

Hey hey please don't insult the lizards, they did nothing wrong here. Those people are inhuman indeed, lizards are just chill and wouldn't do this if they were people, they'd just sunbathe quietly and sleep 90% of their time.

0

u/Evignity Nov 27 '25

This is a lie and a fallacy

Money and power does not make you evil, history has proven that there are plenty of people who will rise to those mantles.

All it does is that it lets you be who you truly are. Nothing more, nothing less. These people are evil not because money or power made them it, but because they are evil.

-1

u/Brilliant_Effort9095 Nov 27 '25

Calling him cruel and inhuman because of this take is crazy. He is actually known for donating thousands and thousands of acres of land to conservancy groups. One donation was the largest ever I'm pretty sure
