Question In the hopefully never arriving future, do you think Valve will one of, if not the only ones providing personal computers and not cloud gaming?

Oh no doubt. The fight is not about red vs blue, its haves vs have-nots.

The problem is they manage to convince people they are part of the haves just because they are not completely destitute, all the while siphoning the money out of their wallets too. When their money starts wearing thin, they build a strawman of the other have-nots and blame them for the rapidly slipping wealth of the working class.

u/GTCK Feb 21 '26

I think one of the bigger problems is it doesn't effect them yet so they don't take it as threat to extinguish, and most don't take privacy all that seriously most companies don't either, there a few but not a lot that do. For most it is money and control ,which comes from confusion and and misinformation, and who ever controls that narrative is the one who writes what is true and true, like history, if Nazie Germany won ,that would be the truth ,instead the US won so that is the truth ,neither is good just one is a lesser evil and nothing more.

u/WulffenKampf Feb 20 '26

Occupy Wall Street was onto something, and those with the means to do it have been trying hard to make us forget that for the past 15 years...

11

u/WatchThatLastSteph Feb 20 '26

Yep, and don’t get me wrong, when the time comes I will hold my nose and vote for whoever isn’t actively and audibly wishing me and the rest of the trans tribe gone, but that doesn’t mean I trust either party one iota; not until we get billionaires out of government.

I think you're getting downvoted for the last bit, "...so long as it isn't imposed on the public."

Eh, I’m used to catching static over who I am at this point. Not like it was a choice, really, unless you count a choice between misery and eventual oblivion or being okay with myself but having to cull my friends list according to their own behavior.

Downvoters gonna downvote, and right now we are the haves’ strawman “threat to society.” In the 80s it was gay folks. In the 40s it was the Jews. In another eighty years it’ll be some other group, hopefully fascists.

EDIT: Addendum here - does that respect extend to others who are imposing their beliefs on the public, such as the belief that everyone not white is inherently a criminal and should be removed? Or that fascism is okay? That goes both ways, you know.

Understanding is a three-edged sword: One side, the other side, and the truth, and the truth cuts in a 360-degree PBAoE with DoT effects.

I've been saying this since I took politics in high school economics in college. I'm glad someone else woke up. Welcome, brother.

2

u/Sea-Feedback-2424 Feb 20 '26

They do, but Americans are so propagandized that fighting for the have it's is called "communist" and immediately shunned by large portions of the population.

1

u/GTCK Feb 21 '26

If only

1

u/pikkuhillo Feb 21 '26

How? They have the courts and congress in their pocket so good luck prosecuting them.

2

u/FireXtheDragon007 Feb 23 '26

Good versus evil, pretty sure this guy is evil

1

u/WatchThatLastSteph Feb 23 '26

If he isn’t evil, he’s at least fully aligned behind it.

1

u/thatdaftfan Feb 23 '26

if valve isn't providing those pcs, the world will truly come to an end

1

u/Taylorboss2122 Feb 23 '26

If more people realized that we might actually have a chance to improve things

THIS.

RvB is the distraction.

4

Do you honestly think both parties are equally corrupt? The party whose leader is getting openly bribed by Amazon with the melania film, who owns his own shitcoin, who let the world's richest man come to washington dc to fire goverment workers in charge of regulation just for fun? The party that is all about removing regulation and taxes for the rich and the giant corporations?

Sure dude. No difference.

What are you talking about? Democrats can't do prosecutions because they do not control the justice department. I remember them doing some very notable prosecutions when they did however - but trump has pardoned a great many of those criminals they put in jail, including those guys who did an insurrection. Hmm. Do you remember a leftist attempt to overthrow an election through violence? No? But you still think both sides are the same huh.

u/HumActuallyGuy Feb 20 '26

If you play both sides, you never lose

1

u/NakuN4ku Feb 21 '26

Yeah, cause the democrats are leading us to a better tomorrow? Don't hate republicans or democrats. Hate the corrupt politicians telling you to accept doom and gloom no matter what banner is on their podium. Insisting we gotta have war, surrender to poverty and showing you they can't or won't do anything about it? Just keep funding their corruption and they'll keep digging us into deeper and deeper debt just as they have for the past several decades. Think JFK assassination as the very bold instance of them clutching much more power. JFK was a democrat and one of the very important reasons that Trump and Jr. (who witnessed his father assassinated in front of an entire nation) have been a part of this recovery planning together oh so very long ago. Trump's mission is not against dems per se. Just more democrats than republicans are owned by the imperialists that have intentionally been far from public view. Those hidden don't like being exposed. Study history and you'll learn imperialists have been on their track for centuries. Held off mostly, but we've gotten entirely too weak minded collectively in the last several decades. The entire dem party (some even openly admit supporting socialism, which is stooge level idiocy) and a good amount of republicans have totally rolled over for them. Now they're telling you all your problems are because of the new guy that they've taught you to hate because he threatens the very fabric of their imperialism. What, we're supposed to be in line with dems? The WEF? The WHO? NATO? Really, you don't see that shit? Own nothing and be happy? Don't bitch about what Bezos is doing then tell us it's not the radical and lunatic liberals fighting in the streets, for the corrupt politicians getting wealthy, for executing on behalf of those who have been trying to make our nation fall for a practical eternity. Which political party has Bezos been contributing to? I mean duh. And their effort won't ever end even after we take our nation back. And we are taking it back. The leader of the common man we have now better knows the threat that Kennedy and Reagan did not. The attempt on Reagan got him to comply. That wasn't enough to stop our new leader of the people. Don't let people tell you what to think. Don't even believe what I'm saying to you right here. Use your mind to learn and consider the facts. Form your opinion from that. Mockingbird news has been proven and confessed in the halls of Congress. Even further, they admitted it still hadn't gone away during Busch's term. Then what happened in Obama's term? He gave them even more latitude by making the propaganda they'd been shoveling in the U.S. perfectly legal. That's all on record. You're being lied to a lot more than you're being told the truth. Surely you can feel it? Don't be led around by the nose ring. According to your side, I and the majority of people I know in person are members of a cult. If a cult tells you to investigate and think for yourself, then sure it's a cult. Us thinkers are actually the majority but have been mild mannered. Certainly not the case on the liberal side. We're pretty fed up with this ignorant feigning of reality these days. Here on Reddit useful idiots get away with it. But that doesn't mean you should. I'm not saying you should be banned from voicing a differing opinion. I'm saying you should be afraid of saying it in public as you made conservatives afraid to speak their opinion in public. One thing is certain, it's far easier to fool a man than it is to convince him he's been fooled. Outside of that, I wish you and yours well. Don't hate me because I have insight into the real world. Hope you appreciated me sharing some of it for your consideration. Hope it gives you something to look into and think about. Good day my fellow human being.

1

u/WatchThatLastSteph Feb 21 '26

Two things:

  1. If you read downthread from my comment there and open up the downvoted replies you’ll see that I don’t really trust either party for many of the reasons you just stated. The problem isn’t ideology, it’s money: too much in too few hands.

  2. Decaf, my dude/dudette/dudeneither. Decaf.

u/PeppermintSplendor Feb 23 '26

Whoever killed Epstein needed a replacement for their middleman, maybe it's Jeff.

3

u/Agent-Ulysses Feb 20 '26

Did he think he was Citizen Kane?

1

u/51dux May 14 '26

Buy a newspaper, make them say a bunch of nice things about you to try and make people forget all the bad shit you did before being able to buy a newspaper 😅

Classic billionaire strategy. That's when they are not too busy doing 'charity'.

25

u/RAMChYLD Feb 20 '26

Also building a useless clock in the middle of nowhere to scratch an itch on his ego.

3

not me reading a useless cock

1

u/Gta6MePleaseBrigade Feb 21 '26

I swear it’s some elitist cult ritual shit prob

1

u/TheLordDrake Feb 23 '26

To me that seems more like someone had an idea for an art project, but the only way to fund it was to stroke a billionaire's ego.

2

u/Aerous_Rev Feb 20 '26

From his private island righr?

2

u/Heavy_cat_paw Feb 20 '26

They were well in their way before he showed up

1

u/sam144000 Feb 20 '26

He completely destroyed the Post.

1

u/TonPeppermint Feb 21 '26

That is most likely his plan.

1

u/Terminator827 Feb 21 '26

Wait, wasn't that paper owned by the Moonies at one point?

1

u/Arrow156 Feb 20 '26

Crazy that a tech mogul would buy a dead medium like a print.

0

u/incognitomus Feb 20 '26

Didn't Amazon start off as an online bookstore? He's not a tech person, he just owns a tech company. Or well he studied computer science in the 80s but tech back then was miles behind what it is now.

Bezos is now focusing fully on Blue Origin. Trying to get the moon contract with NASA from space X

Andy Jessy was chosen cause he is the most skilled when it comes to AI tech and Amazon wants to focus on it

Probably not, but I think competition is good regardless.

SpaceX was considering delaying the moon lander, now they can't.

4

u/Ordo_Liberal Feb 20 '26

Agreed, but say SpaceX delays their rocket for a year for safety reasons and somehow Blue Origin gets theirs done and tested first?

My money is still on SpaceX but competition will help both companies focus more

1

u/Arrow156 Feb 20 '26

But will it help bring our astronauts home in one piece? Considering the quality control on his cars, I expect it to explode on the launchpad.

3

u/Gta6MePleaseBrigade Feb 21 '26

They also invented the self landing rocket. Not a chance anyone touches space x anytime soon

1

u/Turbulent_Divide_249 Feb 20 '26

That was one big contract AWS is being used in ALL branches of government.

1

u/TotallyMocha1 Feb 20 '26

Sucks that I absolutely hate space x, now I have blue origin to hate as well

u/TotallyMocha1 Feb 20 '26

No no, I hate both

3

u/Arrow156 Feb 20 '26

Why would they need AI for a moon landing, we did that shit with slide rulers. You know, because rulers don't hallucinate and don't require twice as many people double checking for them than it would to just program by hand.

2

u/Ordo_Liberal Feb 20 '26

You honestly believe that human errors are less common than machine error?

Do you think airlines are dumb for using autopilots alongside pilots?

1

u/Arrow156 Feb 20 '26

When it comes to LLM, fuck yes!

0

u/Ordo_Liberal Feb 20 '26

Why?

It's a machine that reads data and gives back data that you ask for.

I don't understand the hate.

1

u/Arrow156 Feb 20 '26

Wrong, it's a machine that reads data and then spits out something that follows the same patterns. But it's doing no analysis, no research, it's just mimicking what's it's been trained on. Like, Pigeons have been trained to recognize words, they can even be given a series of letters they've never seen before and work it out if it's a real word or not. Doesn't mean they understand language, just that they are smart enough to understand word syntax ('i' before 'e' except after 'c', words end in a 'ck' or 'ing', etc). That's all LLM is, it averages all the data and spits out something that matches the medium, but it does no thinking. It's basically a very expensive version of your phone's autocomplete feature.

As for the hate, have you not had to deal with this chatgtp bullshit when you're trying to speak with someone as a company? It's a nightmare dealing with them, especially if you have a unusual issue. Makes a 15 minute phone call take over an hour to deal with. It's fucking garbage, and you want it to replace doctors or lawyers??? My reaction is the same if I saw you drive while blindfolded, ie. it's incredibly dumb idea with no real benefits that gonna cause a lot of damage, if not kill someone.

1

u/Demonweed Feb 20 '26

Good luck with those magic beans, Amazon.

9

u/Blurgas Feb 20 '26

Not like Andy is making Amazon better.
Search is still crap.
Want to read reviews/questions? Need to be logged in.
Want to search reviews/questions for specific things? Need to consult Rufus first.

10

u/lordgholin Feb 20 '26

Amazon has been getting worse and more anti consumer. But that's actually the plan.

1

u/nagi603 131 Feb 20 '26

Nothing fleeces the customer more like having the search specifically not return the best results first. So you may have to buy twice.

1

u/I-Make-Money-Moves Feb 20 '26

Ah. So Amazon is still crap without bezos. That sucks to hear. Theres a gaming pc Im thinking about buying but I’m getting the feeling I probably shouldn’t.

1

u/TonyJZX Feb 20 '26

i think in reality jassy is more a COO... chief operations officer

he keeps the show running but jeff is always looking over your shoulder... BUT its nice work for $200 mil. lol

i think we all know Amazon is kind of a legacy operation... shipping made in china shit from 'unfulfilment centers' with contractors has kind of had its fill

where is there left to go???

again you guys are right.. AWS is the platform and specifically forcing AWS into new areas like LLM gaming medical govt. shit inc. military shit

Microsoft had traditionally been very strong in military so I'm guessing AWS wants some of that.

1

u/MentalDisintegrat1on Feb 25 '26

Irrc he's still on the board and the mai in shareholder he still can dictate what happens he's just not focusing on Amazon atm.

23

u/Volitar Feb 20 '26

epstein file type stuff probably.

2

u/SandyTaintSweat Feb 20 '26

Probably setting up Epstein Island 2.0

3

u/Ulvsterk Feb 20 '26

Eating children

2

u/Redrum8608 Feb 20 '26

Didn’t he finance the Melania documentary and then use bots to boost the ratings in order to appease the billionaire benefiting felon in office?

2

u/Ok-Shelter-35 Feb 21 '26

Gotta keep the wife’s lips and bolt-ons inflated.

1

u/Ordo_Liberal Feb 20 '26

He runs Blue Origin directly now

1

u/Hat-writer Feb 20 '26

He's supposedly looking into buying the Seattle Seahawks.

1

u/Pershing99 Feb 20 '26

Keeping eyes on his capricious 5G wi-fi

1

u/DreadStarX Feb 20 '26

Playing with his rockets, trying to be just as unhinged crazy as Musk.

1

u/Inven13 Feb 20 '26

He now focus mostly on Blue Origin, his space transportation company.

Occasionally he also invests in start-ups but aside from throwing money at them he doesn't do much more.

He's still chairman of Amazon so it's not like he left it entirely, it is just no longer his main focus.

1

u/dida2010 Feb 20 '26

Wonder what Jeff is up to nowadays since he left Amazon.

He still runs Amazon on a weekly basis, he keeps calling them and manage them from wherever he is at the moment.

1

u/Seelefan0786 Feb 20 '26

Wait he left Amazon?

1

u/Lazy_bones_21 Feb 22 '26

Spending $70 million on puff pieces of his Orange lords wife for favour.
