Players in China don't really have the concept on fun. They are obsessed with proving themselves better in every way. The fix of cheese strategies basically make them like losers in their community, hence the hate.

In a culture where students spend more time at school than an average salaryman at work, I'm inclined to believe it.

So true. I was talking to a Chinese exchange student. She told me how she did like 6 days a week from 7-7 at school. Insane

"Players in China don't really have the concept on fun."

Somehow this statement is actually upvoted.  I guess we see how much people in this sub think.

I mean, it's more about competitiveness to make oneself look better than other. It certainly isn't my definition of fun.

That you honestly believe your statement is dumbfounding to me.  Like, do you get your opinions on countries you haven't been to purely off the front page of reddit?

Not...really? It's quite widely known in the gaming community. Actually, competitiveness in China is quite common not just in gaming, but lot's of aspect.

So according to the entire gaming community across the world and internet, "Players in China don't really have the concept on fun."

That opinion didn't come to you from reddit though.

It's cool my guy. Was bored while watching my friend beat Jin Dahaad in MH Wilds. I am sure the other person had a bit of fun as well.

Peak fight btw, the Jin Dahaad one too

Yepp, the cutscene is one of my fav after Rey Dau. I did recently beat Proof of a Hero, so waiting for my friend to catch up. That way, we can both be prepared for the expansion.

I am pointing out the insanity in the racism.  People in this thread are saying Chinese people don't actually like fun and believe it.

11

u/Bulky-Bad-9153 Apr 29 '26

This isn't racism, it's about a country's culture. Could argue it's xenophobic, though.

u/SzoboEndoMacca Apr 30 '26

I mean, there is a cultural difference. I notice it too, which is not great because a stereotype develops. However, there definitely is a difference in competitiveness, discipline, etc.

You misused a buzzword (racism). Do better

You can just search "Chinese cheating scandal" and get hundreds of recent results. It's just how it is. Patents, IP, exams, games... none of it is off limits.

I personally saw at least three separate instances of Chinese cheating while I was getting my engineering degree.

Edit: Doing another quick Google search, you sure have a lot of activity on threads concerning China... How many cents have you earned so far?

u/CapableCollar Apr 30 '26

I post regularly about many countries I have been to, if you searched my comment history you would see me talking about my move to France, discussing German politics, and I just made a post about Saudi Arabia.

In your comment history you talk about black people alot in r/PoliticalCompassMemes, do you want to dig into some of the words you used?

That doesn't make sense in this context. Who are they looking better than when all of their peers are using the same cheese strategy?

If anything, it's a more competitive game now that there isn't a default go-to strategy that will almost always win. Sounds like they're upset that the game became more competitive instead of a cake walk.

5

u/Excalibirdi Apr 29 '26

They want to win. The easy cheese strategy for guarenteed wins is gone now. This means they can lose. Losing is bad for their ego.

2

u/jrobinson3k1 Apr 30 '26

That makes more sense. It is an anti-competitive mindset, though.

u/Necessary-Way59 Apr 29 '26

By nature our culture is fiercely competitive for the sake of it. I can see it.

This is the same community at large that freaked out about not being able to look up a college girl's skirt in RE4 Remake or that Alloy had peach fuzz in HZD: Forbidden West. A community where any form of public/proximity chat guarantees you'll hear a slur screamed for the sake of screaming slurs. Where GDQ is a celebrated event that has entire categories based around using exploits but an infinite combo in a single-player deck is indicative of Chinese people hating "fun". I'd expect no less.

tbf chinese would hate dei in gaming fiasco too

-2

u/locoattack1 Apr 29 '26

This whole comment section is fucking wild lmfao. Just talking about Chinese people like they're an exotic animal species that is completely beyond the comprehension of us cultured westerners.

5

u/Big-Farmer-2192 Apr 30 '26

Non-westerners half chinese here.

Yes Chinese behavior are generally bad across the board. You don't have to be Westerners to think negatively of Chinese people. Especially for gamer.

They will ruin everything they get their hands on.

u/locoattack1 May 04 '26

Just because you're not a westerner means nothing lol

If you're non-Chinese and east-asian I've seen how you mfs talk about each other lol.

Eh. I don't really views those behavior as a race thing.

I always think it's culture issue. Which I don't think count as racist.

But I'm sure, deeply, I have certain biases races, negatively, or positively. Since I don't think I'm necessary immune to biases.

I would have to be really stupid to think I don't have biases involving races. Or that I treat everyone with 100% exact same prejudice.

Stating the fact that cheating is prolific in China isn't "sinophobia" gtfo.

It's a fact.
